The nail biter! Yeah, that's me!

I have been biting my nails for 30 years. I remember when I was little and my mom had tried everything she could think of to get me to quit and nothing worked. So one day she put stuff on the end of my nails and told me that it was poison and that if I ate it, it would kill me and I STILL bit my nails. I have had fake nails on a couple of times and guess what? Yep, I bit those suckers off too. The one time I managed to not bite them for a couple of weeks I never could quite biting the thumbnails so I really have NEVER not chewed them. So now you have it, the whole history of my nails..I'm soo sorry! But aren't you proud of me!! Yes my fingers still look like link sausages but they don't look like bloody link sausages and that my friends is a step in the right direction!

Garage Sale Season

Bay and I have been obsessed with garage sale-ing this year. I got most of the girls school clothes at a $1.00 to $2.00 a piece, you can't beat that!!! We had lots of fun Saturday mornings wandering around looking for signs to lead us to the perfect garage sale. We hit a Tupperware one and got cute little miniatures and magnets for 10 cents, scrapbook stuff was everywhere, games, movies, a $100 polo coat for Baylee for a $1.00! My two favorite things that we got this year are;
I paid a little bit more for this stainless steel utensil set but is it every worth every penny of the $8 I paid for it. They are heavy duty and beautiful at the same time!

This little love seat! Can you stand how adorable it is! Baylee and I found it one Sat. and had to pass it up because it cost $40 and I just couldn't pay that much but I thought how cute it would look down in the guest bedroom downstairs. Baylee and I talked about it for weeks and would sigh and say we wish we could have gotten it. One day, at least a month later, I was shopping at the Walmart by my house and I bumped into the garage sale lady. Can you believe she had not sold it! She gave me a great deal so it was worth the wait!


I can't wait until next year! I am so going with Amber she found some killer deals too!

I was literally carving this as the trick or treaters were arriving. We were so behind, I didn't even decorate this year- the kids did it while I was gone to a meeting.

Lego Hell!

While we were all sick with the swine flu I had the great idea to go through Carters Lego's. The little turkey (normally that would have been a swear word) had taken apart all of his Lego sets for the 3rd time. For those of you who do not have boys that are into Lego's this might seem like not too big of a deal but I am telling you it is!!!!!! Before you think me too ridiculous I do have a whole slew of Lego's that he can just play with but the sets were off limits to just destroy and mix together. Each set is expensive and comes with unique pieces that are difficult to find. I have never been closer to a nervous breakdown in my life. There were Lego's on every surface and we spent most of 3 days all working on them. I have confiscated all sets and he will have to earn them back. I told Carter that all of his nieces and nephews will have to come and play Lego's at his house because I have no doubt that the girls will not be buying any for their families! They loath Lego's and I can't blame them I'm not terribly fond of them right now either!

We are getting CARPET!!!!!!!!!!

We did it!! We ordered the carpet for the basement. It is being installed a week from today! I was loosing my mind with all of the stuff that is supposed to be down THERE, in all of the other rooms in our house. Example being the queen sized bed that has been in my front room for 3 months. It is the first thing people ask "Why is there a bed IN here?" If I had a dollar for every trick-or-treater that asked us, I could take ya all out to dinner....... at the Olive Garden! We also had to ask ourselves this little question "Where the H is the Christmas Tree going to go"! (I know it seems sassy to put those two words, I mean letter as the case may be, together) We would think of alternate places for the beloved tree, all of which are being taken up by something that does not belong there. We finally came up with putting it in the master bedroom and the kids didn't think that was such a hot idea! It would totally ruin the "Christmas Torture" game that Kent plays every year (if you have no idea what I am talking about go to my blog last christmas and it will explain it all). So for better or for worse carpet is on it's way. Pray that we will be able to get it completly done in time. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!

My Sister is Having a GIRL

Yeah! She has always wanted a girl and was afraid that it was NEVER gonna happen! Congrats!!

I spoke a little to soon!!

We are still in the flu mode at the Bolton home. Kent went in to the Dr. this aft and they said that we most likely have the swine flu. YUCK! So we will be hanging out for a few more days! Poor Kenner has been hit the hardest! Wish us all luck and a get well soon and stay far, far away from us!!! This is one thing we don't want to share!

Candytarian?

Aly and Carter were looking at a magazine with some meals in it and Aly was explaining that it was a vegetarian meal. Carter got bright eyed and excited and proceeded to tell her that HE was a vegetarian and that was not ALL..... HE is a Canditarian too. I say TRUE DAT..that kid loves candy!!

The Flu

It has been 10 years since my whole family has been hit with the flu at the same time. We have spent the last 4 days in unified misery. I do not think it is the infamous Swine Flu but it was something nasty that is for sure!!! Tomorrow it is back to the grind!

The French Connection

Carter came in to snuggle yesterday morning. Kent was in the shower so I had him all to myself. He was visiting so cute when all of a sudden he just pops off with...."I am never going to french kiss, Mom." I told him he never had to if he didn't want to and that is when he told me that he would only french kiss if he moved to "French" and that he would only do it if his wife "demanded it". I asked him how he even knew what french kissing was and he even did a most hilarous reenactment in the air for me! After he was done he just sighed and said "See, it's just creepy! I'll never do that!" It was a scream!

Fall Family Outing

We decided last Monday to head up to Monte Cristo Canyon and see if we could get some family pics. The Traceys were game and even packed a little bit of a picnic. After the guys got home from work we hopped in the car and headed up knowing we would miss the optimum lighting but it would be a fun adventure anyway. We hit the mouth of Ogden Canyon and realized that all that was left of the fall colors were different shades of dead brown! Don't ask me why but every year we miss the fall leaves in the mountains. I always wait to long. The Traceys saved the day by taking us to a fun place by Weber State and we ended up having a rather fun FHE. Thanks guys! Here are the pics that we got of them.

The Big Baptism Day

I was pretty darn impressed with Aly and I. We are responsible for this little creation. With out the help of Inkleys or Walmart I might add. Not that I didn't spend hours trying! It turned out AWESOME I think!

I am joining the Kranks for Christmas!

As we were driving to our friends house the other night I was calmly sitting watching the stores go by when out from the corner of my eye I see the display of Christas trees at Lowe's! Do they not know that for like anyone over 18 it scares the H out of us!!! I guess since it is October it is fitting for them to try but COME ON! I saw wrapping paper in Walgreens a month ago! It isn't even close to Halloween yet and they have the full on Christmas display up! What has this world come to? This little incident has sent me over the edge and I am canceling Christmas this year!!!!! Bah Hum Bug!!!!!!!!!!!!

The biggest loser MOOBS have to be addressed!

This is a post dedicated to all you Biggest Loser diehards!! I love this show, don't get me wrong, but come on people!!!! The moobs (man boobs) are out of control!!!
With a coke in one hand and a big bag of potato chips in the other I settled myself in my best couch potato spot ready to enjoy one of my favorite shows. Aly, who usually hates all shows that in any way, shape or form make a difference in real peoples lives was gracing us with her presence. (She claims she can't stand the shameless plugs, but I think her heart has shrunk 2 sizes just like the Grinch!) As I shielded my poor innocent eyes from the moobage that should be censored (Do they really look THAT different?)!!!!!! I hear Aly break into song........."Do your moobs hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow?" I am still recovering!!!! It has sent me into a new stage of hysterics just writing this!

Organized? Maybe!

I am trying really I am! Does anyone have any cute cheap ideas of putting the month somewhere around this? Amber... Jenny.....?

Sun Valley

Kent and I went to Sun Valley the first week of school! What kind of mother leaves her kids the first week of school? I am still feeling a little guilty but it was so nice to get away for a while. Kent had business meetings and so it was the most inexpensive trip ever. We did have a lot of drama at home such as Aly passing out the first day of school and Carter straining his quadracep in one of his legs. Tudi was kind enough to come to the rescue and came down on Wednesday to help out! The girls did have to play walking shuttle on Tuesday night and then go to Young Women's. I don't think they have ever slept better than they did Tuesday night! They were pooped! I sure appreciated their willingness to do it though! We had a marvelous time among the snobby rich people! Our friends Branden and Cassidy and their kids were there as well and that made it fun. I got some quality time with cute little Jake and Cole. Thanks for letting me go with you Kenner!
A little Angie trivia but I LOVE to watch ice skating and they have a training rink open all year round in Sun Valley and it was awesome to see them practicing.

Ahh.....Pokemon...........the nostalgia!

Little miss Aly was one of the original pokemon diehards. She has secretly stowed away her memorabilia for all of these years. When we cleaned her room out this time she was finally able to let go. It was all because of this adorable little boy in our ward, named Alex, who is OBSESSED with pokemon. I took pics so Aly could see what her sacrifice meant to him.

First Day of School 2009

This summer is just one big blurr! I can't believe that it is school time again. This is going to be one of the hardest school years yet with kids in 3 different schools. Wish me (and my van) luck!

Drews Birthday

We were privileged to get to spend Andrews 4th birthday with him. Josh was working down this way and so Deid and Drew came and spent a few days. Mom and Dad came and spent the time with us too. What a fun few days! Drew was his funny little self and insisted on being called spinner the whole day. We also had to feed all 7 of his stuffed rhino's breakfast! That kid has an imagination and is so crazy he keeps us all constantly laughing. Happy B-day Drew! We love you!
