Yungaburra

Pour notre dernier jour à Cairns, nous sommes allé visité Yungaburra, pour une raison bien spécifique que vous allez découvrir. J'ai pris cette photo par déformation professionnelle - c'est un écartement ultra petit, pour les trains qui transportent le sucre de canne.

For our last day in Cairns, we went to visit Yungaburra, with a specific aim in mind, which will be revealed below. I took this photo because of the amazingly narrow gauge - these are tracks that the sugar-cane trains go down.

Cette photo donne une idée du climat et du paysage à cet endroit où il faut monter dans sur les collines dans les forêts pour redescendre de l'autre côté sur le plateau.

This photo gives an idea of the climate and topography on the 'oceam' side of the hills that you drive over to get to Yungaburra.

Il faisait chaud et humide, mais on a réussi des sourires au moins le temps d'une photo.

It was hot and sticky, but they managed a smile for the photo.

More goodbyes

Ayant laissé la famille Australienne à Brisbane, nous avions encore quelques jours à Cairns, donc juste une avec les autres.

Having left the Australian contingent in Brisbane, we had a few days back in Cairns, and just one day's overlap with the others.

On a profité d'aller ensemble à une plage qu'ils avaient découverte en notre absence.

So we made the most of going to a beach they had discovered while we were away.

Port Douglas

Oops, on est dans le désordre, cette visite était avant qu'on aille à Brisbane. Regardez-moi cette plage qui n'en finit pas et où il n'y avait personne.

Whoops, this one is out of order, this happened before we went to Brisbane. Look at these miles of pristine beach, with no-one to be seen.

On a commencé notre visite avec un piquenique.

Sur le chemin de retour on s'est éclaté dans la mer, toute génération confondue.

On the way back, we had a great time swimming in the waves, in the not-even-slightly-chilly water.

Puis on a mangé un bon fish and chips!
