One Happy Reunion

I know everyone by now has heard about the passing of President Gordon B. Hinckley but I just wanted to post this article I just read about him. I was truly touched by the kind words many well known people had to say about Pres. Hinckley. Ryan and I both loved this man and were sad to see him pass on but also so happy for him to be reunited with his adorable wife. What a pair those two were here on Earth and I can only imagine the talk up in heaven!

A Crazy Weekend

I have to admit that I have been a little lazy but for good reasons. Last Thursday, I took Drew to the Dr. after he kept waking up through out the night constantly and come to find out he had a double ear infection. I figured he had another ear infection but had no idea it was in both ears. Poor little guy. So we got some medicine and you could tell by Saturday, he was feeling alot better. The past week I haven't been getting a very good night's sleep because Drew would wake up constantly through out the night. My poor aunt and uncle stayed with us for the wedding and had to deal with Drew waking up at 4 AM every morning. He thinks it is play time and would keep waking up every hour till he finally was up for the day. He is still waking up early but now it is 5 or 6. Hopefully he will get back to sleeping better because when he wakes up, I wake up and have a hard time getting back to sleep.

The wedding finally arrived and we all survived. Thank goodness! I didn't take really any pictures so check out Kimberly or Cindi's blog for pictures of the wedding. I am sure Wendi will be updating her blog very soon. My sisters did a great job in decorating and I cut out and hemmed the table cloths and that was a nightmare. But it was very beautiful and now my little sister is a married woman! So now this week I am being very lazy because I am trying to relax and catch up on my sleep. I am back to my To Do List next week!

OOPSS: Let me clarify one detail. I didn't cut out and hem all the table cloths, some of them. Those table cloths on the table in the picture were bought that way. I did most of the dar brown table cloths!

Don't Touch my Balloon!

On Saturday, we had Wendi's Bridal Shower at my house. Of course the leftover balloons stayed here and boy was Drew in heaven. There were 6 balloons and he actually was getting frustrated because he couldn't hold all 6 in one hand. I finally gave him only 1 and hid the rest in my room. It was so cute watching him walk around the house holding his balloon, not letting it out of his sight. Every minute or so, he would look up just to make sure it was still there. I finally was the mean mom and took his balloon away so he could take his nap. Man, did that not sit well. He screamed on the top of his lungs but went to bed nicely. I thought maybe he would forget about his balloon after his nap, but no, he went looking for it right away. It was too funny.

We have all recovered from our trip to Utah. It was nice because one day after getting home, Drew was back to sleeping 2 1/2 to 3 hour naps and sleeping 13 hours at night. I was in heaven. Then Monday morning he woke up with a cough and by that night he had a runny nose and itchy ears. He went back to getting up at 6 or 6:30 instead of 8 and talking 1 to 2 hour naps. It was very frustrating for me. So we have been giving him garlic drops in the ears and Tylenol and using the nose sucker. Tuesday night was horrible. He was up every 30 min. until 12:30, that's when I used the nose sucker. Then yesterday, Wednesday, Ryan looked at Drew's gums and saw that one of his molars broke through. Man, that sucker came in pretty quick because I checked his gums on Tuesday and saw nothing. He does have one more coming in on the bottom but it is no where near breaking the surface. So now Drew has 5 teeth on top and 2 on bottom. He is just a little lop-sided, but we still love him. So that night he got ear drops, Tylenol, the nose sucker, and Orajel. He slept his 13 hours once again. It was nice. Now we just need to work on taking longer naps but I would rather have him sleep 13 hours at night and only take 2 hour naps.

These last few pictures are of Drew playing in my buffet table. He was having lots of fun sitting and standing in it. He was too cute, I couldn't tell him no!

Utah Fun!

The reason we have been really busy is we headed up to Utah the day after Christmas. It was crazy trying to get all of us packed and fit all our junk in the car. We miss our van, for only a split second. It is only when we travel when we wish we had a bigger car. One day, we will get one! So, I wasn't sure how the car ride up would be so I packed everything I could think of to entertain Drew. We had our portable DVD player with all kinds of DVD's, tons of food and milk, toys, his favorite stuffed animal---Mr. Puppy, and CD's that played kid songs. Drew did so good in the car, I was amazed. Besides the food, he was entertained with the portable DVD player. He really didn't even sleep much, maybe 1.5 hours total out of the 9.5 hour drive. I was so proud of him. The car ride home, he did just as well. Thank heavens for portable DVD players! Drew had fun seeing his Grandma and Grandpa and all his cousins on Ryan's side. All of them are quite older than him so it was quite the change for him (my side they are all under 4). Click on the pictures to see Drew's cute smile and funny faces!

It was so cold in Utah, I can't believe I lived there for a year. It snowed half the days we were there. The lows were in the teens and the highs in the 20's and low 30's....brrr! We did take Drew sledding and he wasn't quite sure of it. He was fine in Daddy's arms but didn't like walking or touching the snow. He did like being pushed in the sled but the second he lost his balance, his mitten fell off and his hand was buried in the snow. It was then screams and tears. He didn't like being cold.

Later in the week, Ryan took Drew out in the backyard and he liked catching the snowflakes as long as you held him. Next year will be a lot more fun. On Sunday we visited the Kumps and saw everyone but Jeff and Marcy...we missed you guys. It was fun seeing all the little cousins play and get along so nicely. Thanks Aunt Linda for the delicious dinner. We always enjoy eating over there. New Year's Eve we went out to dinner with Ryan's family and played games. It was a nice and quiet night. Then we came home New Years Day. Ryan didn't get a chance to go skiing because the days he wanted to go it was snowing so he is hoping to go sometime with his brother Rick up to Sunrise.

So now we are home and taking down Christmas and rearraning our house once again. Ryan got me or shall I say I got myself a buffet table and it is a little bit too big for our front room so I had to rearrange the furniture. One day we will be able to buy a bigger house to fit all the furniture how I want it. For now, I will make do. Drew missed his toys and and his freedom to do whatever. We missed Arizona weather or I missed AZ weather...today it was in the high 60's and tomorrow it is suppose to be 71. Now that is perfect winter weather if I must say so! Now we are staying busy because next weekend is the Super Cross for Ryan and Primary Activity Day for Amy and the weekend after that is my sister's wedding. We will be able to rest once the wedding is over!

Christmas 2007

I know I am a little slow in getting this up but we have been really busy. Our Christmas started out with the first annual Christensen White Elephant Exchange. It was really fun and I think every family needs to start this tradition. We walked away with this really expensive lotion and lottery tickets. We had a wonderful Christmas Day. You know when your child is to young to understand presents when he wants to play with the wrapping paper more than the gift, but we still had a lot of fun. We opened our Santa's gifts at our house and then went to my parent's house to open their gifts to us and the grandkids. Then, later that night we went to Rick and Karen's house to spend time with their kids. It was quite the day and Drew was one happy kid with all those new toys he got.
