little miss Thang

Hallie: Eww ought ee in a oooed ough-ay Ahhhee!

translation:"YOU GOT ME INTO A MOOD TODAY DADDY!"

Jeremie: "NO! you got yourself into a mood today... and you can stay in bed until you get yourself out of that mood!"

This after we put her in bed after throwing a fit about not wanting to finish her breakfast, later came out and squeezed the pancakes in her little fists, and then Jer washed her hands and put her back into bed.

Fun morning eh?

She still hasn't emerged.

Totally. . .

I am totally...

1. Exhausted. It's no secret, I sometimes struggle with depression. Lately, the only symptom I have is exhaution, along with the lack of the usual 'get up and get it done' attitude. My mom is chalking it up to my crazy workouts, I thought it might me not eating enough carbs/calories. I got a blessing and that's what my mind keeps going back to depression. Is that possible, to be suffering from depression without the self pity, and saddness, just the tiredness? IS it possible to be so tired/busy to not even realize that if you stopped you'd be depressed or sad. I'm too tired to even feel?

But I am feeling because I am totally...

2. Excited. Well, we visited the recruiter on Tuesday. Looks like Jeremie will be applying to be an Officer in the United States Air Force. I am excited on many levels. The school loan repayment, the chance to travel and actually see different parts of the country and even the world. The chance to strengthen our family, by being away from extended family(sorry), the ability to be able to be stations so close to extended family too. Dayton's base has the largest Air Force Hospital in the country. All this on top the of the chance for Jeremie to get training and schooling while in service, and him not having to work on top of school, plus not going into more debt to acheive the education goals that we want. And the chance for me to able to finish as well.

3. Nervous. He has better chance at getting it since he has nursing exprience. But there is still a chance he won't. It will take a while to apply and a little to find out. This maybe our last summer here, if he gets in. And we really don't know what life will hold for us once we get in, and how we will adjust to the lifestyle. Oh and of course the deployments... still have no idea how'll I'll make it through with the kids, and how they will make it with out the nice parent being home.

4. Done. With my house. need I say more. That's another benefit of the Air Force. I feel like we will be able to get out of here, and hopefully sell it. It's not that it's small. I actually prefer smaller to larger...less to clean. I just feel like there is still so much I could do and I am done.

5. Confused. So I totally love seeing my family grow. Especially the kids growing up. But it makes me sad to see pictures of them when they are little. It was a good time. it just goes so fast. It still is a good time, great really. I love them and they are so much fun. I love, love, love watching them interact with each other, now how they interact with me can be a WHOLE different story. I just can't imagine adding more on top of all this(see number 1.) but I can't totally grasp the thought of never having a baby again.

Goals

So. . . Sunday was one of those days. I took my kids to the RS room we barely made it past the opening prayer, I should have done it as soon as I sat down on the pew. I just knew it couldn't turn out well. BUT. On the up side. I actually got to think during sacrament and listen during the meeting. It was surreal. As I was trying to get them to sit durring the sacrament and explain the sacrament, to try to see what they actually knew, I realized a few things. I've got some work to do. Not so much about teaching them. I need to stop yelling at them all the time. I need to take a few dozen chill pills, they are kids, they listen, they are trying... but it's hard. I realized that none of them have reached the age of accountability, I have, for quite a while now too. I need to check myself before I get after them all the time. I realized they don't really need to worry about the sacrament, some of you may disagree. But, oh well. I do, however need to- worry about renewing my covenants that is. I just told them to sit still because it was something important to me, and that seemed to work the best. I want to teach them by example rather than shoveling information, which can just turning into blah blah blah. I don't want them to do this religion because it's me forcing them, I don't want them to feel like that. I want them to see it's affect on me, on our lifes, and I want them to want to do it, or at the very least respect me and my decisions.

So how'd I do this week, on not yelling at my kids?

Wellll. so far. Awesome. I mean I am just completely awesome. I have not at my kids once this whole week. I've never done so well on a goal so quickly, but man I. am. amazing. It's been so quiet around here, I can hardly contain myself, I actually turned on the radio for some noise! It's been lovely. What a difference. Which I must say this quietness has really helped Jeremie out since it's finals week, he's got a ton of studying done too.

What?!

what's that?????!!!!!

You think it's because they've been at Mom Pam's all week. They refused to get in the van after Jana's Bridal Shower on Sunday, and quite frankly I got in the van and let Jeremie fight it out. They won of course. So they have been playing with cousins and their aunts and uncle?

So. Pish Posh. Details. Details. Still. . . I haven't yelled at them all week;)

Well, we'll see how the rest of the week goes, we're picking them up today. And we'll see how I hold up, you'd thinked I'd be well rested and ready to get them back, right? Well I am ready to see them, I do miss them. But this hot and cold thing, kids to no kids to kids again is like going from a cold pool to a hot tub then back to the cold pool over and over again. Maybe we'll take a mini date before we go get them, since we've barely talked this whole week because Jeremie has been busy studying. I have been able to clean a little, but really you'd think I'd have pumped out a bunch of projects and gotten on top of everything. Nope I took it easy, I did of course do a little here and there, got the house cleaned, and went threw things in my mom's basement, but I haven't really cooked much, or done any outside work, laundry, or my basement like I would have liked, but honestly I am still a little tired. This p90X things is no joke.

Memorial Day

We didn't quite know what we were doing when we got up to workout in the morning but all in all it was a pretty fun day.
We ate breakfast, and Jer got the bikes in working order, so we tried. . . I repeat tried to go on a bike ride around town. I knew we wouldn't get much done, I was just hoping to make it to both grandpa's graves, they are in two different cementaries but both are in town so I thought it was reasonable, nope, just did one. We'll try the other one next time.

This little guy as it turns out has no idea how to brake, or had no idea how to and biffed it pretty good, Luckily we got him back on the bike, and made it home, and luckily we talked him into going on a walk the next night to learn how to break.
Hallie rode her bike in a dress, she was pretty stylin' I wish I got a picture.
I on the otherhand pretty sure didn't look as cute and am glad I didn't get a picture.

The newest Memorial Day tradition is that we go to Mt. Healthy's Parade, I think it's our second year going, It's nice we meet at 1:30 get everything walk down, get into our 'sweet spot.' it starts a few minutes later, and we get to see a quick parade, long enough to see a few fun things and short enough that the kids are good the whole time.

We finally got to go swimming, boy has it been hot lately. This is the first Memorial Day in a long while that I can remember it being hot enough to actually get in and the water feeling good. That means it's been hot enough to warm up the water already, and that means even the nights have been hot. . . Man am I glad my parents have a pool. I think I am already driving them nuts though, with being constantly over their house. I bet they are as sad as I am that I didn't sell my house and move to a new one with AC. And my old roommates are probably happy they visited in April! We worked on Jeremy's tooth while we were there. . .

He finally lost it! He's missing 5 now, he lost another one Sunday. . . we told him he couldn't get in our van to go home from church with a front tooth. It's amazing to me that a 6 year old would be able to leave a wiggling tooth alone, and not mess with it till. He wanted it to "fall out on it's own with no wiggling" that boy is UNIQUE.

The guys. . I mean boys had a lot of fun swimming, and the girls had a lot of fun watching them swim. I don't care how old a guy gets if you give them a big enough ball, they turn into HUGE kids. Can you guess what we've been watching A LOT of lately. . . That's right! Pippy Longstocking. Of course we had to get teh wire out and do some braids.
