Odin [AstroForge]

Odin, formerly known as Brokkr 2, built by OrbAstro for AstroForge, is a prototype spaceprobe to perform a fly-by of an near-Earth asteroid to perform surveying and prospecting for a future mining mission.

Odins role is to gather critical imagery of the target asteroid, preparing the way for AstroForges next mission, Vestri, which will aim to land on the asteroid and begin extraction.

AstroForge announced in January 2025 the target for Odin's mission: the small near-earth asteroid (2022 OB5) that could be metallic.

The small asteroid fly-by probe was launched as a ride-share passenger with Intuitive Machines Nova-C IM-2 on a Falcon-9 v1.2 (Block 5). The spacecraft was to fly by the asteroid about 300 days after launch.

Shortly after launch, the AstroForge team experienced communication issues, leading to a total loss of communication less than 24 hours aster launch.
