EchoStar 25 [Maxar]

EchoStar 25 (EchoStar XXV) is a direct broadcasting communications satellite manufactured by Maxar Technologies (United States) for EchoStar Corporation to support the satellite television services of DISH Network (United States).

The satellite provides Ku-band Direct Broadcasting-Satellite Service (BSS) capacity for television distribution to residential customers. It supports the delivery of broadcast television programming across North America, enabling DISH Network to distribute high-quality video content to subscriber terminals equipped with small receiving dishes.

Maxar announced in April 2023 that it was selected to provide a high power direct broadcasting satellite, EchoStar XXV, to DISH Network Corporation (EchoStar).

EchoStar 25 is based on Maxars flight-proven SSL-1300 spacecraft platform. The satellite carries a high-power Ku-band communications payload with multiple spot beams designed for direct-to-home broadcasting. The multi-spot beam architecture enables frequency reuse and improved spectral efficiency, allowing high-capacity delivery of television channels to targeted coverage regions.

The SSL-1300 platform supports large geostationary communications satellites with high electrical power generation, deployable solar arrays, long operational lifetimes, and flexible communications payload configurations suitable for broadcasting missions.

EchoStar 25 was launched on 10 March 2026 aboard a Falcon-9 v1.2 (Block 5) rocket operated by SpaceX. The launch placed the satellite into a geostationary transfer orbit from which it will maneuver to its operational geostationary orbital position
