Yu-Gi-Oh Off Topicon

Are we alive? I hope we're alive. While we're not very active at all, and were previously bordering on dead, if there are any interested parties out there, I have a new Offtopicon Challenge for you!

The great thing is:
* You can enter up to 3 icons
* You have until January 5th, 2007 to enter

Here's the challenge:
* Use one or more of the following Salvador Dali quotes (either entirely or a portion of it) on your icon. You may "slightly alter" the quotes if necessary (for example, to accommodate a name, or to change one noun to another appropriate one).
* You may use the same quote multiple times, or you may choose a different quote for each of your icons, up to 3 total.

( The quotesCollapse )

Remember, as always, to include your icon in your comment to this post, along with the URL (in case the image doesn't display for some reason). Also, the icons must meet LJ standards: no more than 100 x 100 pixels, and no more than 40KB in size.
* Anime, manga, fanart, and doujinshi are all okay
* Animated and stills are okay
* Your icons MAY be textless and "inspired" by one of the quotes, but you must indicate which quote inspired the icon.

After an extremely long hiatus, much confusion, and the general-ness of not enough people knowing about us, WE ARE BACK! I apologize profusely for Challenge #9 never getting resolved; I will unscreen the entries shortly so that people can see the few submissions we had, and gank them with permission.

But for Challenge #10 and all challenges onward, we will keep a regular schedule, regardless of the number of submissions! We'd like to have at least five submissions a week (that's five DIFFERENT people submitting, not five total icons), so please keep watching us!

The same old standard rules apply, but if you're a first time icontester, you might want to give the User Info/Rules a look see. When you're ready to participate in the icontest, click on the cut: ( Random is goooood!Collapse )

;_; MOU, MINNA! I guess I'm just not creative enough with my themes or something! I've given some extra unannounced time for Challenge #9, but still we only have *2* entries (and that's WITH rans_curse earning 3!)...!

The new deadline will be Monday, October 10th, 2005 at 11:59pm!

Please submit your icons for Challenge #9 on the original post! Thank you~

Thank you to rans_curse for making these banners so promptly! Everyone, dont't forget to save your banners and upload them to your own host!
( You know, occasionally, I wonder: If Wiley E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that Acme stuff, why didn't he just buy dinner?Collapse )

Yo, long time no see, minna! You may have seen me and my entries in the recent challenges, but not posting the new challenges... well, I'm back, I'm bold, maybe even-- oh wait, wrong fandom.

*ahem*

Anyway, I come bearing Challenge #9! Also, keep your eyes peeled throughout October for Challenges 10, 11, 12, and 13, because they will all have one special thing in common... aside from their totally random themes, that is!

( I am your unknown color now...Collapse )

Sorry for the delay, but here are the challenge 8 results! Congrats to everyone! :)

( Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your earCollapse )

We need a bannermaker for this challenge!! If you have volunteered to be a bannermaker, you have until the end of the month to respond to this post or you will be removed from the list.

It's time for the voting for challenge 8! Everyone will have 'til Thursday, September 15 at Midnight CT to submit their votes. Even if you didn't make icons for this challenge, you can still vote. :D Do so like this:

First Favorite
Second Favorite
Third Favorite

Best Likeness
Mod's Choice (You guys don't vote on this one though.)

( It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.Collapse )

The icons were awesome, guys! ^^ Hope to see things continue this way.

Because I'd really like to see many more icons for this challenge, I'm going to give a little extension. I know a lot of people are returning to school and so icon-making during the week might be asking a little much... So in saying that, Challenge 8 will be extended until Monday, September 12 at Midnight Central Time.

Remember, you can submit two icons this round!

Good luck. I love the entries so far. >3

All right, guys and gals, it's time for challenge 8! This will be like a normal challenge where you'll be able to submit two icons. I think you'll have fun with this one. *evil grin* ( It's time to...Collapse )

You have until Friday, September 9 at Midnight Central Time to finish your icons. Good luck, everyone!

All right, everyone! Time for the results! I'm uber-happy to see new faces entering this round! Rockin'. I loved these entries, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be put as the community icons, but first place will be *the* comm. icon and the default.

( And the winners are...Collapse )

Congratulations! We still need a bannermaker for next challenge. Please, if you volunteered comment here saying whether you are or are not available to make the banners. I may have to revise the list if no one speaks up. The next challenge will be posted shortly. :)

Well, everyone, it's time to vote for the winners of challenge 7! We have 5 wonderfully random entries for you to vote on, and vote like this:

1st Favorite
2nd Favorite
3rd Favorite

Most Random
Best Suited for the Community
Should 1st Place or Best Suited be the next community icon?

With the last one, a simple yes or no should work. :)...actually just a 1st or BS will work...Thanks, corinn For the first three, please only choose one different icon for each, with the last two, you can repeat icon numbers.

( Bad spelling can be lethal. For example, the greedy Seriph of Al-Ybi was once cursed by a badly-educated deity and for some days everything he touched turned to Glod, which happened to be the name of a small dwarf from a mountain community hundreds of miles away who found himself magically dragged to the kingdom and relentlessly duplicated.Collapse )

Voting for this round will end Wednesday, August 31, at Midnight Central Time. Any bannermakers who have not made banners yet, please leave a separate comment to this post if you are available to make banners. Happy voting! :)

( Click for your banners!Collapse )

Comment when you get yours, please! Don't forget, challenge #7 ends this Thursday! Get your icons in!

Congratulations everyone! ^_^ The icons were great. I had to break a lot of ties, but here are your results!

( Results are here!Collapse )

I'll be the bannermaker for this round as well. ^^; Thanks for participating, and don't forget to get those icons in for challenge #7!

Again, apologies for the delay, but here are the Harry Potter challenge banners. :D Please comment when you've picked yours up.
