Learn MoreTour was wonderful. Loved everything. Very well organised and super localities. Anna is a superstar, she was invaluable
Stephan Lorenz is an exceptional guide and a person you would go anywhere in the world with. We met him about 12 years ago in Alaska and have done nine tours with him. He has exceptional Birding abilities as well as amazing people skills. Rockjumper is lucky to have such a person on their staff. We always look forward to our next adventure with him. He sets the bar really high.
A wonderful tour, perfect guided, perfect organised. We are very happy about this phantastic advanture.
Here is my humble evaluation - Overall - both main trip & extension are enlightening and worthwhile to experience the Amazonas, and to see the endemic amazonia birds 🐦⬛, some very rare and localized. Birding the bird islands is one of the best, unlike in other parts of the world. Boat birding is easy, but difficult in amazon forests because birds are small, quick and very high up on trees under hot conditions, but trails are good and level. Guides - Bradley of course is an expert bird guide, excellent organization and helpful details toward each participants. Dusan always helpful and humorous, made all efforts to ensure everyone sees the bird well. Lodges - all comfortable and clean. Amazonia Park Suites better than expected. Meals - adequate, satisfied. Enjoyed the delicacy local fishes. Insects - I got many bad bites still not recovered yet, the dark brown bites increases in size lengthwise leaving dark big patches on the body. Dusan said they are from the forest, maybe ticks, but I suspect those are mites or fleas from the boat. It should be warned in the tour description page. Birthday - a special feature in Rockjumper tours, I had a blast celebrating my birthday, thanks!
Tasmania was beautiful, but cold, with wonderful birds. I very much enjoyed it.
Enjoyed having the extra cultural experiences of a flamenco show and seeing the Don Quixote windmills. Fabulous Lynx viewing at Cato Clavo where we were able to get super photos. Javi was a very good driver and guide and explained a lot about conservation.
