"You clear away the dead things, so the tender buds can form [Jul. 11th, 2006|05:03 pm]
WHATSHISFACE
[music |"Wick"--- The Secret Garden]
[mood |anxiousanxious]

Secret Garden has begun. :-) Yesterday was our first day. What fun we had getting all requanited with one another in our car pool. I love my carpool. So then we arrived. We walked into the wrong building, the gym area, which was weird. We finally were moved over to the other building by Laura who I greeted with a hug. Then more people started to arrive: Colleen & Sam & I hung out pretty tightly and we hung around alot today. I missed many of my summer theatre people. Many of whom I havent seen since last summer. We introduced ourselves or for some reintroduced. Then got our auditon pieces- The guys had a monolouge by Archibald and had to sing either "Lily's Eyes" or "Wick". We praticed & such for awhile then it was up to us over 24 hours to memorize and be ready for today's auditons. I ran around looking for a copy of the Original Broadway Cast, no luck, then tried to downloaded some of the music of I-tunes and burn them to CD, which failed miserably. Then went home empty handed and praticed till atleast 12:15. Then slipted off into dream land.

Then awoke for auditon day. Awoke feeling slightly unsure, yet somewhat confident. Carpool arrived. We sang "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "Seasons of Love" to calm our nerves. Watched as Elise was stalked by a man walking by as we waited at the stop light, and laughed hysterically. Then arrived. We reviewed. Kevin arrived, he had told me he wasnt sure if he was coming, but he did, so yay! Then we went outside and auditons began. Chosen at random: Jill went first. I went second. I got very nervous. I walked in on Jeff & Laura dicussing Jill's preformance, which is very awkard. Then was asked "Sing or monologue first?" I chose song, because I had just done it. Then was asked "Which song" to which I replied "Lily's Eyes" and I did alittle nervous dance which Jeff asked if it was my "Lily's Eyes dance" to which I said "Yes" and danced somemore. I sang and got alittle nervous but Jeff helped me through then when I was done said "Wow" which wasnt sure if it was a good or bad Wow. Then did my monologue pretty well. I'm nervous yet exicted. I watched everyone else go. We have 8 people left to auditon, then callbacks begin tomorrow. I watched Sam & Colleen go in and come out, I felt their nerves. I felt everyone's nerves. Me & Colleen were bopping out to my Ipod. I swear, this girl makes my day. Her & that crazy guy stalking Elise. I spoke to a source inside on this project who told me that nothing bad came from my auditon, which is good to know. Thank you source. For all you're helpful words.

So thats pretty much it. The subject is from the song "Wick" from Secret Garden.

Lyric Piece:

When a thing is wick, it has a life about it.
Now, maybe not a life like you and me.
But somewhere there's a single streak of green inside it.
Come, and let me show you what I mean.

When a think is wick, it has a light around it.
Maybe not a light that you can see.
But hiding down below a spark's asleep inside it,
Waiting for the right time to be seen.

You clear away the dead parts,
So the tender buds can form,
Loosen up the earth and
Let the roots get warm,
Let the roots get warm.

Come a mild day, come a warm rain,
Come a snowdrop, a-comin' up!
Come a lily, come a lilac!
Come to call,
Callin' all the rest to come and see!

MARY:
When a thing is wick,
And someone cares about it,
And comes to work each day, like you and me,
Will it grow?

DICKON:
It will!

MARY:
Then have no doubt about it,
We'll have the grandest garden ever seen!!
[Spoken]
Oh, Dickon, I want it all to be wick! Would you
come and look at it with me?

DICKON:
I'll come every day, rain or shine if you want me.
All that garden needs is for us to come wake it up!

MARY:
But, Dickon, what if we save the garden, then Uncle
Archie takes it back, or Colin wants it?

DICKON:
Ay, what a miracle that would be, gettin' a poor
crippled boy out to see his mother's garden!

[Sung]
MARY and DICKON:
You give a living thing
A little chance to grow,
That's how you will know
If she is wick, she'll grow.
So grow to greet the morning,
Leave the ground below.
When a thing is wick
It has a will to grow and grow.

MARY:
Come a mild day, come a warm rain,
Come a snowdrop, a-comin' up!
Come a lily, come a lilac!
Come to call, calling all the rest to come!

MARY and DICKON:
Calling all the rest to come!
Calling all the world to come!

DICKON:
Oh, somewhere there's single streak of green below,

MARY and DICKON:
And all through the darkest nighttime,
It's waiting for the right time.
When a thing is wick, it will grow!

Summer dreams ripped at the seems.... [Jul. 4th, 2006|11:37 pm]
WHATSHISFACE
[mood |anxiousanxious]
[music |"Not That Kind of Thing"- The Wedding Singer: Original Cast]

Well, life is good. Summer Theater begins in a few days. I guess I'm exicted {Of course I'm exicted.} but I'm so nervous about casting that I'm all shaken up {ALL SHOOK UP!} and I just don't know how to react with these "amazing" people I hear who are coming into the picture. Oh well, I'll just have to deal I guess. Summer has been pretty good. Went to Rimp && Arianna's grad parties which rocked. Worked alot and have some money toward Senior trip, which I should over with last week's check and this week's check. I had alot of hours last week & this week.

So yes, life is in fact- wonderful. And NY (which includes a trip to see DROWSY CHAPERONE, which should most deff. rock &&& plus doing tons of lotteries && sightseeing and of course... picture taking, duh) is after Secret Garden wraps in August then its... SENIOR YEAR, which is both exicting and scary. I know I've gotta make my dreams come true this year &&& I'm gonna. I'm never gonna get to Broadway with all these doubts, I've gotta conquer them, and I'm going to. Summer- has it changed me? Physically- maybe alittle less chubby. Mentally- I think I've grown up alittle. Not like all stuffy and emotionless. I may appear as childish as possible, but I'm defintely going to take things more seriously && be more indepedent and show the world what I can do... so watch out world... "there's more to me than there is to me"--- Leo Bloom, The Producers

Summer 06- thus far, has been quite, fun, slightly hard to handle with work, but I'm happy with the way its going... And here's to the rest.

Happy July 4th one and all.

[music |The theme to Veronica Mars]

SENIORS 07! WHAT WHAT! Yeah, I'm offically a senior. Its feel pretty damn cool to say I'm a senior. Yeah the ceremony was nice and and I'm gonna miss my seniors. They know I'll miss them and I wish them all the best in college. So now, life is just pretty boring. Lots of stuff to do- from work (and possibly getting a new job- yay!) and Summer Theater starts in July and then there's Summer reading to do ((Anthem && 1984)) and the packet with those, so yes. Lots to do before September. Plus, my annual birthday trip to NY is in August, so lovely. Thats been pretty much the most fun of the days, thus far. So yeah. Today- basically was all Papa's house. Came up and went on computered till 5:30 then went to church then had dinner at Arby's with Papa, then came home and computered till now, now me and my aunt are gonna watch VERONICA MARS SEASON 1, (which I ADORE, as you can tell from my icon and my layout.) So, yeah. pretty much all fun. Tomorrow- going to ATLANTIC CITY for the day, then staying here till Tuesday then I gotta go home to work on Wednesday, so yeah.

I wanna hang out with my friends soon. Oh well. Soon.

LYRIC PIECE---

ROBBIE
I wrote a song six years ago
While playing in a wedding band
The word got out and suddenly
The band and I are in demand
And now couples all over Jersey
Hire me to insure their wedded bliss
All because of a tune I wrote
That tune
goes like this:
Oh, when it's your wedding day
And my music starts to play
I can guarantee that

ALL
LOVE WILL FIND YOU!

ROBBIE
Yeah, when it's your wedding day
All the problems melt away
If you count on me
'Cause love is what I do
Now when we play a wedding gig

ROBBIE, SAMMY & GEORGE
We're like a finely tuned machine

ROBBIE
Sammy does Van Halen licks
While George gets down on tambourine
We might play you some careless whisper

SAMMY & GEORGE
Or make you wish you had

ALL
Jessie's Girl instead

SAMMY & GEORGE
Bring the room down with endless love

ROBBIE
The blast bang your head

ALL
BANG YOUR HEAD!

ROBBIE, SAMMY & GEORGE
So when it's your wedding day
And my music starts to play
I can guarantee that

ALL
LOVE WILL FIND YOU!

ROBBIE, SAMMY & GEORGE
So when it's your wedding day
All the problems melt away
If you count on me
'Cause love is what I do----

Always There- A Poem. [Jun. 4th, 2006|05:51 pm]
WHATSHISFACE
When my darkest hours come
The yelling, screaming
I pick up my phone
I find you're name in my address book
or usually in my call log
I sit and we talk
Talk and talk
I share my problems with you
You share yours with me
We cry
We laugh
We sometimes even sing
You're always there
Always just an IM
or phone call
or text message away
Who have thought I'd find my best
in the most odd of places
You'll always be there
And I'll always be there
One day
I'll be there
And you'll be there
And our dreams will come to life
thanks for always being there
always.

"Whoever said it was lonely at the top was looking from the bottom." [Jun. 1st, 2006|07:41 pm]
WHATSHISFACE
[music |"Bad Day"- Daniel Powter]
[mood |dorkydorky]

Well. It has been quite a while since my last post, hasnt it. With only 10- thats right 10- days of school left. Summer is calling my name. I'm signed up for my usual spot in Gloucester County Parks and Rec Teen Players, I'm going to the American Idols Live! concert on July 22nd (Taylor Hicks= awesome! as you can tell from my layout and icon) and my 18th (WOAH!) birthday is coming up on which I'll be doing my last preformance of the summer program. I'm still going to NY as always (yes, Briana- I've accepted it- I'm a spoiled meter.) but on the 22nd of August through the 25th- Woot. 3 days. Amazing.

As school comes to a close, I look back on this year and some of the things I've learned and I look to the future- Senior year. A time to as my brother said yesterday "Live it up" and I plan to follow that motto with all my heart, along with "Work hard" and prepare myself for the harsh world ahead. I'm gonna follow my dream, I'm going to college for musical theater (I've already decided this.) and I'm going to minor in either English literature or most likely advertising/business. I've got alot to experience in these months before school begins again in Sepetember. Will I change- Maybe. Lose alittle poundage- Maybe. Grow up- Possibly. But I'll always be goofy, fun and obessed with the Great White Way and all the other loves of my life. No matter what happens, I'll always be me- and the world, no matter how harsh and no matter how great senior year will be- I'm gonna remain true to me. "To thine own self be true"- William Shakespeare but it best.

So as I said- 10 days left. Exam reviews are about to begin. Got my CORD review packet today. So yes, life at Kingsway is winding down. The Flag Ceremony is gonna be nuts (for all you non Kway readers of my journal- this is when the current seniors pass the Kingsway flag to the juniors and thats when we offically become seniors. Also they go over the senior's future plans- almost like a mini graduatation.)

Also, got my new IPOD, which I had to buy. Stupid Apple store. But now I got a case which protects it. Wheee. I hope this update hasnt been completely wasted. I will TRY to update as often as possible. I am glad some people read this.

The title quote "Whoever said it was lonely at the top was looking from the bottom." was said by Blair Warner of Facts of Life. Yay! Gotta love snobby school girls.

Lyric Piece---

CHRISTINE
Would ya look at that coffered
ceiling,
Look at that chandelier.
Excuse me but how I'm feeling
IS a hundred-proof.
I could raise the roof.
I'm so happy to be here.
I've been kind of missing
Mom and Daddy,
Sort of in a spin since Cincinatti.
The morning flight, a majoyr bore
But then they open the cabin door
And zoot alors-
Here I am!

Lord knows I had the will
And the resources
But Mom and Dad kept saying
"Hold your horses."
I guess those poies couldn't wait-
Pardom me folks but
They've left the gate
I may be late, but
Here I am!

Ah,
The way to be, to me, is French
The way to say "La Vie" is French
So here I am, Beaumont Sur Mer, a
Big two weeks on the Rivier-a.
If I'm only dreaming
Please don't wake me.
Let the summer sun
And Breezes take me.
Excuse me if I seem jejeune,
I promise I'll find my marbles soon

But everywhere I look
It's like a scene from a book.
Open the book and
Here I am!

[music |"Cant Help Fallin In Love"- All Shook Up.]

Well. Today was not great. Missed the bus and ended up having Dad drive me and Ryan to school. He made us get out on top of the hill near the MS and walk down, which so embrassing. The MS teachers/adminstrators warned us not to do it again. Then had my first lateness- EVER (well at Kingsway) then the day went down hill from there. My pen leaked ink all over my hands and my hands looked blue then I had to listen to Baxter yawn on and on about water. History wasnt so bad, just did my packet on Watergate. Health was boring as usual. Its just stupid. I wish Health was more fun, but its not. English was nice, down in the media center- signed up for my Senior Portrait (June 21st @ 1pm), its so strange to think I'll be taking my Senior Portrait for next year's yearbook. Its slowly sinking in- Next year is the END OF THE JOURNEY...

Then had lunch which is always crazy. No seniors around, so much of the cafe was empty, so Kelsey sat with me and Lindsay and we talked Acme and such. Then CORD, got in trouble for talking and got moved--- again. But me and Allie, plan to switch back tomorrow (or soon). Humanties- 8 PEOPLE in the class--- 8! and yet we still had work- vocab. I did my vocab and listened to some people talk about the Seniors who were on the trip from our class and their dislike of them. It made me kind of mad, cause I like one of the seniors they talked about. Chorus- No Dalton, so sat around and watched Toner, Em, Katlyin, Pat & Toff play Consintrantion.

Came home- Watched Cheno on Regis & Kelly, which was kinda funny- she taught Kelly how to do beauty pageant walks. It was hysterical. Then came here to the library- while I tape AMERICAN IDOL at hope. So yeah...

Lyric Piece---

To dream ... the impossible dream ...
To fight ... the unbeatable foe ...
To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ...
To run ... where the brave dare not go ...
To right ... the unrightable wrong ...
To love ... pure and chaste from afar ...
To try ... when your arms are too weary ...
To reach ... the unreachable star ...

This is my quest, to follow that star ...
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ...
To fight for the right, without question or pause ...
To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...

And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I'm laid to my rest ...
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach ... the unreachable star ...

WHATSHISFACE
[music |"You Can't Stop The Beat"- Hairspray]
[mood |chipperchipper]

Woah, it has been quite awhile since my last update hasnt it. Well, I guess I should cover everything.

ANYTHING GOES- the show went AWESOME. People loved it. I got tons of laughs on Friday (the 17th) for being my goofy and offbeat self and it was the best- Blow, Gabriel Blow went fanastic and all was awesome. Especially the Justin as a Women scene- so funny. Saturday was alittle less amazing, but it was still good. I am sad to say Rachel, Catie, Brendan, EmK, Kelly, Rimp and all the awesome seniors all got their sailor hats and were sad and crying. Its hard to say goodbye to them seeing as how they've been there for so much in our lives. It will be hard in June to say goodbye for good. The cast parties were awesome as they always are and we did our version of TAKE ME BACK TO MANHATTAN (Me, Shawn, Rachel, John D & Joe L all do this striptease esque verison of the song which cracked us all up backstage and we did in public- it went hysterically.)

Wicked was next (March 22nd, 2006) It was AMAZING! All of us drama dorks going to see WICKED was fanastic. Eden was so amazing- her "Wizard and I" was on point and brillant- "Defying Gravity" & "No Good Deed" kicked ass and she was awesome- her Elphaba is one of the best. Megan Hilty still makes me wanna pee my pants during "Popular" and Ben Veeren is still the BEST WIZARD by far- His "Wonderful" is fanastic- rhythm and bluesy and full of soul- the man has it and I adore him for it. Pictures of the lovely event can be seen on my photobucket or my myspace.

Then school went on as normal for a few weeks and now its Spring Break and Im completely and totally bored... and I worked alittle, I went to Monica's awesome suprise party and had cake, and smoothies and sang with my Angels (god, I love my Angels) to TAKE ME BACK TO MANAHATTAN. Then worked more then went running around my house taking myspace pictures- played out in the goregous summer-like weather with a giant bouncy ball and had Easter dinner with the fam and enjoyed so many moments of sleeping in.

Tuesday- is back to school and I really hate going back after all those sleep-ins. Wednesday- we go to Philly for the English trip- Constitution Center- woo hoo. Yeah, its a chance to miss school and its kinda maybe gonna be fun- who knows.

Well thats been an informative update. Hope you all have enjoyed my misadventures as much as I have... Comments are welcome here. I may not be able to check as often as I use to but. Comments here or on the myspace are appericated.

Who knew success would come with messy, nasty strings?
I sign these contracts, that means I'm willing

[music |"Heaven Hop"- Anything Goes.]

Anything Goes is going well, to say the least. It getting better. The Ensemble is going good, we've learned most of the dances for the big numbers. Next week we'll be learning more till 5:30. I cant believe musical opens in less than 2 weeks, its really hard to believe. I will never forget auditions, I could barely talk or sing. But I got through it and got the Purser. It was nice to know.

Also I heard from a source that when Sir Evelyn quit the show, I was number 2 to take the role had the current Evelyn taken it, which is really cool to know. So yeah, maybe next year, I'll get a better part, but It doesnt matter to me, as long as I get to sing, dance and act and do what I love doing and it builds experience I need to have to get to Bway.

Our late night rehersals are alittle over a week away so Im requested off that whole week, so Im good on not working then the following week after musical is the WICKED trip, Im so exicted. NY, the best play on Earth and Wicked, one of the best musicals on Earth. So yeah, exicted for the coming weeks.

HSPA is THIS week- so scared, I really wanna do well and pass, so I can graduate and not have to take some stupid HPSA 4 class, so Monday when we review hardcore, I'll be paying attention. So yeah, thats life currently.

Well, it has quite awhile since my last update hasnt it.

Life without a computer is so drab and dull almost like life without music. It has been almost a month. Musical has been going quite well, my role as the Purser is full of fun and joy. I enjoy all the times I almost catch Justin in the act then something happens, but the twist at the end of Act 1 makes me laugh.

Had a little bit of a family crisis this weekend- Papa took a tumble down the stairs and ended up in the hospital and my aunt who just had arm surgery needed someone to stay with her which I did all through the weekend missing work on Saturday to do so, then Papa wasnt released till today, so I stayed with her Monday and today.

Im on my way home now, which is sad.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS:

After being stuck in traffic for more than it was expected, my bus finally arrived here in NYC. I had to book it to the hotel to make to the show (which we were already late to) and so we had our hotel (Comfort Inn Midtown) and it was only like a block away, so we get there and Norbert had just begun Great Big Stuff, which was so hilarious. We had missed Giving Them What They Want and What Is A Woman To Do. Norbert was so hilarious- from his mooning of the audience in Great Big Stuff to his role as "Ruprecht" was so hilarious. Jonthan Pyrce was awesome, he had the style, charm and voice to fill the shoes of John Litgow. He was so hilarious when doing the scene with Ruprecht and Oaklahoma. Mylinda Hall was hilarious as a crazed Oaklahoma down girl thinking of marring "The Prince". Sherie Rene's entrance in Everything Is French- was fanatasic and she was undeniably hilarious. But, my favorite characters were Joanna Gleason as the crazed Muriel and Gregory Jbara as the suave and smooth Andre. They deffiently stole the show. I loved Gregory's "A Chimp In A Suit" which is now my favorite song on the OBC. Joanna was just insane when she was the tourguide to the statue. Their love affair was fantastic. Norbert and Jonthan are a great team and with great back up from Sherie, Greg, Joanna, its a smash hit.

Stage Door- I went out and it was kinda alot of kids (being Kids Night on Bway) met Joanna, looking smart in glasses, Jonathan, who was asked if he was the dad in Pirates of The Cabarribean to which he replied "yes", Norbert- who was in quite a rush but was very nice and signed my playbill and CD. My favorite Gregory was last, but he was so nice, he took a picture with me and told me to email it to him (which I will along with a long email of how much i loved his preformance) I have now become a Jbara Head, he's increbible.

Overall, I loved DRS- hilarious, brillant and down right just what a kid needs to get over midterm over draw.

-----------------------------------------------------

SPAMALOT:

I had just seen DRS the night before and adored it so, another show was a must for me. We tried Wicked lotto- and lost, of course. Were gonna go see Phantom but didnt want to me all sappy and kinda depressed after, so I had been wanting to see Spamlot for awhile, so we walked down the block and got mezz seats for the 2pm show.

So after a great lunch at Oodles nearby, we went to the show. The mezz was empty so we moved down a few rows for perfect seating. When the show began the laughs started.

David Hyde Piece- was hilarious, his "Wont Succeed on Broadway" was hilarious and just had me in stiches the whole time as the uncougraious Sir Robin.

Hank Azaria- What a hilarious part, to play Sir Lancelot, was hysterical- "Sir Lancelot" was so hilarious- him and that boy locked in the tower- too funny for words. Just hysterical.

Simon Russell Beale- He was so funny as King Arthur- he was so funny when Hank and David were talking about the sparrow who carried the coconut horse hooves. So funny. He defitenly seemed like a good replacment for Tim Curry.

Christopher Sieber- so hilarious. Him giving King Arthur the third degree on being king. It was just too hilarious. Then during The Song That Goes Like This when they mocked Phantom it was so funny. Him swishing his hair. Ah- too funny.

Lauren Kennedy- Hilarious. During the Knights of The Road Table- when she was scatting, it was hilarious. Diva's Lament was so hilarious as well: "Not even all our Tony Awards, will keep me out of Betty Fords/They'll probably replace me with Britney Spears"- so hilarious.

The show was chock full of the hilarious moments that make Broadway just too good for words. Having seen the Monty Pythom movie only once, it still made sense though.

Stagedoor- Afterward- David, Simon and Hank all came out and signed. David was so funny- these 8 ladies wanted a picture with him, which i took, it was so funny. Hank had them cracking up with his quote of his lines from the Birdcage and Simon was so nice and sweet. Lauren had to run with her husband, but seemed quite nice. Christopher- was a noshow.

All in all- I loved the show, chock full of fun for the whole family.
