Trump: Confrontation with Iran Heading Toward an End “Very Soon”
ARK News.. U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that the confrontation with Iran is heading toward an end “very soon,” while claiming that the United States is asserting control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking from the Irish capital Dublin on Saturday, September 12, 2026, Trump said the issue would be resolved immediately after the midterm elections. He said Tehran was seeking to hold out for as long as possible to complicate the U.S. electoral landscape but added that he believed the public was well aware of this.
Trump also said Iran was genuinely seeking to reach an agreement, stressing that the United States was achieving a “major victory” in the confrontation and reiterating his firm commitment to preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
He sought to reassure the public that the situation was moving toward stability, noting that the Houthi group did not want to enter into a direct confrontation with Washington.
Trump also suggested that Iran was behind the latest attack targeting oil pipelines in Saudi Arabia.
