Hi,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Losing access to a site can be a real setback for any admin, and we really do understand the impact this can have.
Since this occurred across all 3 sites at the same time, despite your IP having been previously whitelisted, it may indicate a change in the shared hosting, proxy/CDN, or server environment that affected visitor IP detection.
The visitor IP address source is one of Shield’s most important configuration options, as Shield relies on the detected visitor IP to apply whitelisting and security rules. If that IP no longer matches the address on the whitelist, a block may be applied across sites sharing the same setup.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have an opportunity to review the relevant details, so we can’t confirm the exact cause. In this situation, the first things to check would be Shield’s IP Source setting and the WP Activity Log, which can identify what was blocked and why (if anything). Shield also includes a recovery option (forceoff method) to temporarily restore access if needed.
Again, we’re sorry that you had this experience, and we genuinely hope you find the security solution that works best for you and your sites.
