Hey there,
Sorry you’re running into this! The message WordPress shows doesn’t tell us what actually broke, so I need a bit more info to track it down:
The actual error. The quickest way to get it is to ask your web host for the PHP error log from around the time you tried activating. They can usually pull it in a few minutes. If they can’t, WordPress may have emailed the site admin with the error details. As a last resort, add these lines to your wp-config.php file, try activating again, and then check wp-content/debug.log:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
Once I see the error, I should be able to tell you exactly what’s going on.

Hi there,
Please try activating Pretty Links once more. Then open your hosting File Manager (or FTP), go to your WordPress folder, then wp-content, and open the file named debug.log. Copy the “PHP Fatal error” line near the bottom and paste it here.
If you can’t find it, ask your host for the PHP error log from the last hour.
Looking forward to your reply.
All the best,
Euler.

I also don’t see:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false);
