• The Optimiser plugin bloated my database from 250MB to 1.8GB with it’s cache problems. I managed to fix it, but it happened more than once, causing me to pay hundreds of dollars to Siteground, then other people, to fix the problem caused by this plugin. It slowed down my site and caused errors with my hosting.

Beware that it will fill up your database and cost you money! Terrible plugin. Does the opposite of what it claims to do.

    Hello @mandyhallmedia,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve experienced with your site’s database. I would like to note that this behavior is not expected.

The Speed Optimizer plugin is designed to improve site performance, and creating excessive database bloat or errors points to an underlying configuration issue, a conflict with another plugin/theme, rather than standard plugin operation.

In case the issue reoccurs, please submit a support ticket directly through your SiteGround Client Area. Our technical support team will look into the issue to identify what causes it.

    Best Regards,
    Daniela Ivanova

    I did submit a ticket. Siteground wouldn’t help unless I paid $200.

    Hello @mandyhallmedia ,

I would like to clarify that we have not received a specific report from you regarding a large database issue caused by the Speed Optimizer plugin prior to this review. Our recent interactions with you over the chat system were focused on challenges with exporting your database for a website transfer, which is why our Expert Care service was suggested as an optional specialized service to assist with those migration hurdles.

Please rest assured that we always investigate and resolve potential plugin-related issues at no cost. If you suspect that the plugin is impacting your database size, we would genuinely like to help. We encourage you to open a support ticket with more details, such as which specific tables are oversized, so that our technical team can investigate the underlying cause and provide a solution.

    Best regards,
    Stanimir Panayotov
