Well, My name is Stephanie, and it has been several years since I've compted (since 04 to be exact), and this year I am going to try out for SDSU Aztecs in San Diego. I'm pretty excited :)
I spun for Escondido High in 03/04 and was Co-Captain in 05 for feild season (until my parents pulled me out because they HATED the band director and the guard instructor.)
But now I only have a year left until the cut-off age for anything thats not in World division, so I figured, why not?
I plan to keep you all posted :)

[11 Oct 2006|12:23pm] |
Auditions for Wothington Independent Winter Guard
***REMINDER***
AUDITONS ARE THIS WEEKEND!
YOU MUST RESPOND TO THIS BY EMAIL, CALLING ME, TEXTING ME, OR IMing ME TO LET ME KNOW IF YOU WILL BE COMING OR NOT. IF YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO US BEFORE, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME NO MATTER WHAT YOUR DECISION IS. WE HAVE TO HAVE 6 PEOPLE THERE WITH $35 OR WE CAN NOT AFFORD THE GYM SPACE!!! (If you have already responded, you do not need to do it again.)
I MUST KNOW IF YOU ARE ATTENDING BY THURSDAY EVENING OCTOBER 12, 2006 AT THE LATEST!
If you are planning on auditioning for Worthington Independent Winter Guard, there was been a slight change in the time for Sunday's audition because the gym was booked before we could finalize the plans. Here is the info:
What: Worthington Independent Winter Guard Auditions
When: Saturday, October 14 from 1-5 and Sunday, October 15 from 3-7
Where: Worthington Community Center on Worthington Galena Rd. , Worthington OH
Who: Anyone ages 14-22 years old
Cost: $35 and it covers both days. NON REFUNDABLE as it is going to the community center to pay for the gym rental. The total cost is $200 so we need at least 6 people to show up. Please confirm to Liz ASAP if you are ABSOLUTELY ATTENDING!
Additional info:
*You must attend the auditions in order to earn a place in the guard. If you do not come, you will not be able to participate.
*If you can only come one day, the cost is still $35.
*Bring your own rifles and sabres if you have them.
*Flags will be supplied.
*Upon making Worthington Independent a $150 commitment fee will be due on October 22, 2006 at our first rehearsal. If you do not bring the $150 you will not be allowed to participate. The reason for this is because we have to sign up for WGI regionals and championships and we need to get that taken care of ASAP. This is also NON REFUNDABLE.
Any questions, please see Liz or Rusty.

St. Clair Independent
Independent A
St. Clair Shores
MI
Is hosting a CAMP THIS SATURDAY!!
When? August 5th, 10 am - 4 pm
Where? Exact location will be determined very shortly. Most likely in the St. Clair Shores, Michigan area. The precise location will be posted once it is certain. If you message me expressing interest I will make sure to clue you in as soon as I get the word!
The cost for the entire day's worth of activities is only $10!!
The staff advises you bring (and I quote): A positive attitude, bag lunch, Sabre, Rifle, Flag if you have them. If not, there are PLENTY to go around, and gloves if you need them.
This clinic is not specificly oriented towards people trying out. If you want a good day of spinning it should be a blast! It isn't geared only towards people that are super amazing either so don't be afraid if you don't think your "that good". Thats what Camps are for!!
Also, it will be much cooler by the end of the week ::whew:: no 100+ degree days LOL

P.S. No you arn't just seeing double (or more) this HAS been XPosted like crazy ;-)

Hello, I'm Tiffany.
I'm captain of my guard and we went through all of our old silks and everything and are planning on selling some. If any of you need some silks, let me know. We're going to take pictures and put them up. We also have two winter guard floors. One is a royalish blue color and the other is black & white [reversible.. one side black, the other white].
Thanks!

hey...my name is stephanie button & i am a member of the aquinas winter guard in rochester, ny. r guard is part of the north east color guard circuit & it is r 1st year as a winter guard. however, i have been in guard 4 3 years in color guard w/ the marching band. (i am a junior & joined as a frosh). after i graduate, i wanna become a member of the statesmen, but i have 2 train like crazy 2 get good enough 2 get in it. i heart winter guard, even tho r guard got last in almost all of r competitions & had 2 switch songs 1/2 way thru the year. we finished off r season w/ 8th place outta 11 in regional a class. hmm...i do both banner & rifle & i think i am gettin on sabre next year. i stink @ dance, but i can project & perform my ass off, so it don't matter 2 much...tho eventually i will learn. well...idk wut else 2 say...if ne 1 wants 2 talk, my sn is laladoubleuh & the myspace is www.myspace.com/buttonator89. so..i guess that is it. peace out.

hi everyone, my name is melissa and i'm the co-captain of cardinal gibbions' guard. we're on the sfwga circuit, if anyone wanted to know
i have a problem though- the girls are having serious problems getting into the show. and personaly i think they're haveing problems getting into guard completly. our show is supposed to be sad. so mabey they they think they don't have to smile they just don't have to do anything.
last week our score was 29.9, this week was a 34.0.
i can't think of what we can do to motivate these girls. my coach is out of ideas, and so are the other captains.
if you can think of anything please comment.
- thanks, melissa-

Hey all.
For those of you who remember me, Hi! I marched Dutch Boy last year and we had the Rock VS. Hip Hop show in IA. This year, Dutch Boy wasn't having a colour guard so most of our members went to Ventures.
I've been really busy moving, working, all that jazz... anyways, I'm back this year and Ventures went IO! I'm so excited because this will be my age out year and our show is defenately an Open show. IA is good and all, but it's not as challenging.
I gotta get ready to go to work, but I hope to talk to you guys again and meet up at some of the regionals. Hope your winter is off to a good start!

Our song for our winter guard season is...
Berlin Foot Chase. (composer John Scott, i think)
it's from the soundtrack of the bourne supremacy (not sure if i spelt that right).
what is everyone else doing?

crown jewel... equals... ok??
not really.
for the first time in like 20 something years, our band got an excellent rather then the superior rating we have gotten the past 20 something years.
lets just say.. um.. our band director isn't the happiest man.
overall- excellent
percussion- excellent (they are going to get shit for it too)
auxilery (spelling)- superior (cause thats what we do! ♥ )
drum major- superior (cause she's cool like that)
so lets just put it as. the band didn't do good.
a flute player tripped and fell straight on their face.
another person (not sure who) had their hat fell off, and was like "Oh yeah, i'll just stop marching and mess up the whole line to pick up my hat". not the brighest idea, of course.
and everyone was filling up gaps that were suppose to be empty from the people missing, so that threw off spacing.
and lets just said the music quality was up to par... kinda hear and there type of stuff.
a diaster, basically.
i'm glad the guard did good though, we've(the other captain and I) been trying to get everyone together, we still aren't up to where we should be.
but yeah.. hmm...
not the greatest run...
oh well.. maybe next time?
::crosses fingers for superior at FBA::

Hey all...
Not much updating in here for me.
Sorry bout that.
But I really need some help.
Okay, I'm in winterguard.
And I'm guessing it's second semester for ya'll too, but you never know, I could be wrong.
But anyways...
We're trying to figure a theme for it.
And we want it to be like, way different.
Something that nobody here has ever seem.
But I don't know.
Our instructor really wants us to find one soon, so she can work on it and such.
She kinda wants a tribute to something.
I was thinking like, Moulin Rouge.
But I dunno.
What do you guys think?
Will you help?

Anyways. check out meh journal if you want to know more about me!
