so, i don't know if anyone's still in the community or what, but i got married last friday (september 9) and wanted to share some vendor recommendations with y'all.
photographer: ulysses photography in middletown. they're a husband and wife team who were absolutely phenomenal! they're fun people and make you feel really comfortable. here are our pictures, if you'd like to take a look. they were a little more expensive than some other photographers i researched, but they were worth every damn penny!
dj: tom destry entertainment in wallkill/monroe. tom destry is a great dj. he kept his promise that he'd get our guests dancing within the first hour. everyone kept raving about how much fun he was. he even made up a song for mark and i... just different words that went along with the beatles' "ob la di, ob la da", but it was still great.
ceremony/reception venue: the chalet on the hudson in cold spring. alison, the manager, is wonderful! she was so easy to work with. the food was AMAZING, as was the cake. our guests kept telling us how great the food was. it's a beautiful place that overlooks the hudson river and storm king mountain. we had our ceremony there as the sun was setting, and it was just gorgeous.
limo: all occasions limousine in monroe. they were great, even though i didn't deal with them as much as other vendors. they showed up on time, had champagne chilling in the limo, and got us there in one piece. when the driver arrived at my dad's house, he said "did anyone order a stripper?" and pretended to start stripping. it was funny :P
