How can you not love riding the train every day?

Hey. My name is Jamie Lee, and I take Tri-Rail to school every day.

Train is definitely the coolest way to get to school. You don't have to worry about the rising gas costs, because students ride free. It's not as crowded as the bus, and you aren't subject to whatever horrible music is playing on the radio. And as long as you don't take the train with the middle-schoolers, it's pretty quiet, too.

I made up my own community about commuting called train_chasers, on a whim, but it sits around collecting dust. I thought it would be nice to join a community that was a little more active. Are the majority of people here students?

We don't mind the gap, damn it. We "stand clear of the closing doors".

There's not a lot of people here! But I just joined, and figured I'd say "hi".

I commute into the city via Metro North. Golden's Bridge (Harlem Line) to Grand Central. And then I take a subway to my job in lower Manhattan. Every weekday, I spend lots of time on trains.

I'm looking into getting an apartment in the city, to cut down commute time. We'll see.

So, "hello everyone!"

hello my fellow commuters! long time no update around here, eh? anyway, i just wanted to share that i was in boston for a few days and got to ride on the subways there! they call it "the t", and there are four lines, named by color (blue, gree, orange, and purple i think). and even though they call it a subway, most of it is above ground... so its kinda like a train/trolley/subway. i wanted to get a picture of it, but i didnt think about it until the last day and sadly there were no pictures left in our disposable camera lol. :( but it was cool.

it also made me realize how much i actually miss my daily commute to school every day during the summer. i was on the metro north today though. and it was wierd to not have my monthly pass.

On a Sunday, you'll find some of our cities busiest stations nearly deserted.
It's a far cry from the crowded weekdays, when hoards of passengers flock here
to catch their train.

Someone suggested I join, so here I am!
To anyone who's ever taken a subway during rush hour, you're
no doubt aware that the experience is nowhere near your top 3 favourite
times of day. I find that the commuter trains are a lot less crowded.
