Are you a vegan? Love to read? Keep track of your books and talk about books with other people? But you find that when, within another community, you review a book from your vegan and animal rights perspective the responses from other community members are more critical of you and your supposed infringement of authors' "rights" to write freely and without remorse of eating animals? Do you enjoy fiction but fidget when you read about an otherwise likeable protagonist's penchant for foie gras or steak? Do you read the dedications in the front of books, noticing that the author proudly proclaims herself to be a dog breeder, and put the book back on the shelf because no way will you support that?

Do you just want a place that you can review books, talk about books, and be so frustrated by even fictional lack of concern for animals without worrying about getting trashed, or having to mince words in order to respect the omnivores' point of view?

Well, come on in! You don't have to be vegan to join, but the vegan and animal rights viewpoint will take precedence. Trolls will be banished with an easy wave of the fairy wand. The mods have no problem striking trolls from the kingdom.

You can use this community for discussion, or to set a book goal for the year and keep track of it, to make recommendations or give warnings. Please try to keep the snark to a minimum when commenting to other members; snarking stupid authors and dumb characters is absolutely fine!
