It's been a while...
Sadly I have been too busy lately to get myself Influenced and crafting.  If I do manage to get influenced, I'm barely able to stay awake long enough to even consider painting.  Here's the drag queen that Miss Awesome had created in better detail:

Drag Queen Night!!

It was just me and Miss Awesome, but that was ok!!!  We totally were productive.  There was a rich pageantry of work that was done under the influence.  I think we should start submitting shit to shows...lol.


Miss Awesome has recently been the victim of "corporate restructuring" and the painting in the middle is entitled, "Confusion in a Size Ten."  Those business shoes sure do pack a whallop.  To the right and left you can see a couple of drag queen portraits but I think Miss Awesome's "Confusion" deserves special mention here.


Two Queens.  To the left is Miss Awesome's and to the right is one of mine.  I call it "Mascara Meltdown."  Should have worn waterproof, you silly bitch!!!


This last piece is entitled, "Turmoil" it is a colourful depiction of the inner tortured artiste within the soul of a DQ.

Yes, even the garden

Usually I get fairly crazy ideas when I'm under the influence.  My garden was one of them.  I decided that i would just buy random packets of seeds over the spring and just throw them all over the backyard in the hopes of having a surprise when the flowers chose to come up.  Well so far, none of the flowers have come up and mainly my garden looks like a weed bed.  But this morning...I found some FLOWERSSS!!!

 
Yes I know they're very small.  I apparently am growing a garden of dwarves.


Erm sometimes at night I like to sit out in the garden with my hubster and doodle under the porch light.  Last night we were both feeling a bit tipsy and he asked me if I could draw Boy George as a mushroom.  Well, this is neither I think.  It's a pretty sad looking creature and I'm not sure what depths of my drink addled brain it came from but there it is.

A Rough Week at Work = crafting under the influences

Yes, influence pluralized.  It was a rough week and both myself and Miss Awesome needed to express ourselves.  I don't remember much else after the painting, but as you can see, I think we managed to work out our demons.

Miss Awesome's Painting is of her inner volcano exploding at the thought of working overtime.  Her boss reminds her of a seal, and so at the bottom of the page you can see the flaming seal which was singed by the anger of her inner volcano.

As for myself, I am currently hating on my workstation and its proximity to the Siamese Bitches.  These chicks get on my last nerve.

Yes, it's drag queen fever!!!  As far as I'm concerned,  Well, I don't know if one drag queen counts as a fever, but it's a drag queen anyway.

Greetings and Welcome!
Crafting Under the Influence started out as a way for my friends to get together once a month.  Initially we just planned on getting together and getting drunk but then we realized that we wanted something more.  Being a bunch of creative types we decided instead to craft and get drunk.  And that's it, really.  We select monthly topics to go by which we rarely stick to, but we do try!!!  July's  topic is Drag Queens.  I can't wait to see what goodness will come from this.  If anyone wants to share some Drag Queen craft ideas, I'd love to see what you have in mind.
