 | 06:34 pm - Wanted! Moderator
I am looking for a co-moderator starting immediately for the UCF-livejournal community. While the stress/work load has been exceptionally light the last couple of years, I am looking to find someone who would serve as an active promoter and discussion facilitator for the community. LJ moderator experience is preferred, but not necessary. Working knowledge of how LJ runs is necessary, and any extensive social networking experience is highly recommended. The community has been quiet as of late, and I would like to change that, and make it a welcoming place for information not just for current UCF students, but for incoming ones as well. Please direct your interest in applying for the position to my LJ username, or to:
ucfljmail@gmail.com.
Again, congratulations to all graduates, and best wishes to y'all as you find your place in the world :)

| 06:29 pm - Bedroom in Pegasus Landing for sublease or takeover ($545/mth, no utility cap)
Greetings!
I know this is a bad time of the season to post this, but I am in a pretty tight situation that has forced me to look for housing elsewhere. I currently reside in Pegasus Landing in a very conveniently located unit with excellent roommates. To be sure, I felt I really struck gold with both my roommates and the placement. However, recent events have forced me to look elsewhere for living arrangements, and though I have found where I want to live, I'm saddled with a lease with Pegasus Landing until July 31st. I'm willing to negotiate incentives with any prospective sub-leaser (or preferably someone to take over my lease), depending on the seriousness of the persons interest (as well as the immediacy of when they can move in).
The unit is in a 4/4 plan (every bedroom has its own private bathroom) in Pegasus Landing, with shuttle service of course. Pegasus Landing currently has no utility cap (an incentive I LOVE to take advantage of), and like most units close to UCF, cable and internet is provided inclusive of rent, at $545 a month. The unit is also very conveniently placed next to a fitness center. Further information about the unit can be given upon request, which should be made as a message to my LJ account.
Thank you for your time,

Like to sing? Want to be a part of a group like those on NBC's The Sing Off? UCF's all-male a cappella group Crescendudes is holding auditions for the spring semester! We're looking for all parts so all guys are welcome. Can't sing but know someone else who does? Send them our way!
Auditions will be January 15 and 16 from 2-4 PM in the Osceola Common Room (Apollo Community). The process is easy so don't be nervous! We will have you do a range and harmony test, then have you sing a short solo of your choosing. A verse and chorus of any song is fine.
Spots are limited! Please sign up for a timeslot at http://www.acaspot.com/audition?g=198
We can't wait to hear you!

 | 05:58 pm - Student housing poll
Hi all. I am trying to figure out how much to charge rent for off-campus housing. I'd like to be reasonable about this, which is why I would like some input from current college students who rent. Thank you for any input! (Results will only be viewable by me.)
Does rent include utilities?
What types of amenities are included?
If other, list the other amenities included:
Does your place allow pets?
If yes, do you pay extra for pets?
How long does it typically take you to get to school?
What type of building are you renting?
If other, what type of building?
If you had to furnish any rooms, what rooms were they?
If other, please list the room(s) you had to furnish:

 | 11:46 am - Roommate Needed/Wanted
Hello all,
I know it's a little late for this, but the 3rd person that was supposed to live with us backed out.
We are two guys looking for a 3rd person to move in and take one of the bedrooms in a 3/2 apartment. Rent would be $300 + 1/3 of utilities. The name of the complex is Auvers Village. It's located on Semoran south of Full Sail.
Would prefer someone with no pets, and who doesn't smoke. I'm an Alumni, and my roommate is a grad student, but as long as you don't act a complete fool, age doesn't matter.
Comment on here or E-mail me at Righteousbass@yahoo.com if you have any questions, or if you're interested.

 | 10:08 pm - Suits
Does anyone know a good place to buy a suit? I've checked out Men's Wearhouse and they were a bit too much (even with their bogo). I went to Burlington Coat Factory and it was okay, but not the best selection (though found shoes there). Malls are probably too expensive (tried Macy's) and don't even want to try Jos. A Bank.
So any suggestions out there?
( Here's the style I want if that helps any.Collapse )
Thanks in advance.

 | 06:09 pm - Bike Auctions?
Hello UCF people!
I've actually been out of UCF for some number of years now but we are still living in the area and are looking for some 'new' bicycles. I know when I was a student the UCF police department did bike auctions after the semesters to get rid of bikes left behind. Does this still happen? Is it open to the public or just students? And if yes, when are they held? The only thing I could find while sifting through the mighty interwebs was some information from 2008. :-/ Any info you guys have would be awesome! Thanks!
