IJ roundup for September 22 - 28

Hurrah, we have prepared a pot roast for tomorrow. It's going to marinate overnight, then tomorrow morning I'll put it in the crock pot to spend the day cooking. I feel so virtuous that we're actually planning a meal in advance rather than our usual, which goes something like this: Do I feel like cooking? No? Do I have any money? No? Is there something in the kitchen I could eat that, while not actually being a meal, will serve the purpose of making me less hungry? Ooh, look, cereal!

Sometimes we do actually cook, but it's almost always something stir-fried on the stove -- made with whatever we happen to have -- plus rice. I usually end up doing either fajitas, beef or chicken with vegetables, or my very tasty and decadent chicken in cream sauce. On occasion I make zoepaleologa's Indian Butter Chicken, which is very tasty and usually lasts two meals, but requires actual forethought because there are so many ingredients.

But tomorrow we'll have a real planned-in-advance meal that's a little different from our standard fare, and we'll actually use up the Urban Organic produce that's been piling up in the fridge. Yay! I'm so excited. I'm really looking forward to the veggies. :D

September 22 to September 28:

Hmm, three birthday posts and one Heroes post. I am really boring.

It occurs to me that birthday posts ("Happy birthday, so-and-so! Let me know if you want a drawble!") are only interesting to the person to whom they're addressed. I'm considering dropping them from the roundups, but I'm not sure. So!
