"Courtship display..."

Community
Twice every year, when the action on the pitches around the world takes a breather, fans all over the planet enter a period of bittersweet anxiety: The transfer window opens.
Dreams are born and destroyed, teams remodeled and OTPs cruelly ripped apart when clubs and benevolent sponsors open their koffers and beckon players from all leagues to step on the gigantic merry-go-round that is so essential for the fate of football.
At transfer_window, we provide you with a place to share your anger, fear and hope. To excange ideas and discuss all those brilliant sweeps that provide your club with the manpower to make all dreams come true.
Are you having a hard time to live without the beautiful game when the leagues rest?
Do you think you can do better than those who rule the boardroom?
Are you wondering which team you'll have to support next season when that favorite player of yours moves on yet again?
This is your place to talk about it all.

Posting Guidelines
  • We encourage you to share any articles regarding football transfers, as long as you provide a working link to the source.
  • Your personal thoughts and comments regarding these articles are always welcome, of course, but please make sure they are easily discernable from the article itself.
  • We also encourage your own opinions about how your clubs should reinforce their squads during the transfer window. No plain name-dropping, please. Before you post, try to consider the most important factors for sensible transfers. Don't worry - nobody here consider themselves experts on the topic either. To get the most out of the discussion and help others join in, here's a loose guideline in three steps that will help you make your ideas comprehensible and spark a discussion for the rest:
    1. Share your thoughts on why and where you think your club needs improvement in their cadre.
    2. Do some research - what kind of players could fill the void or otherwise prove valuable assets to your club?
    3. What factors impact the possibility of a tranfer on both sides?
  • Fanfiction and fanart related to the transfer window are very welcome too. Please include a sufficient header (pairing, rating, disclaimer, summary, etc.) when you submit fanfiction.
  • Please tag your posts appropriately. A list of tags can be found » here.
  • This list will be edited/extended when necessary.

Overall Rules
  • Be polite. You might not always agree with other people's opinions, but you should respect them.
  • Stay on topic. If your post doesn't concern the transfer window in the football business, it doesn't belong in this community.
  • No friends!locking. All entries in this community should be readable for everyone, and you shouldn't post or link to illegal things here, either.
  • Please use the LJ-Cut wisely. If you post more than one picture (or if one picture you post is very large), please put it behind a cut. The same goes for fanfiction and articles that include large portions of text.
  • The language of this community is English. If you post entries in other languages, please provide an English translation.
  • General guidelines for Livejournal can be found » here.
  • This list will be edited/extended when necessary.
