12 mth checkup

We are oh just 2 mths late for this but whose counting!

The girls had a great check up this morning. Doc thought Ramsey sounded and looked so much better since Monday. The steroid must have done its job and boy did it...First day like i posted she was out cold, second day...i had the crankiest, moodiest,whiniest, hyper child! I think i could safely say i've had a hour of silence since Tuesday but again whose counting...

Here are their stats!

22 pds 3 ounces

They got their fingers pricked , then three shots :( Finger pricking was the funniest because they didn't cry , they just gave the nurse a what the heck did you do that for look!

Evie is done with Pysical Therapy!!

She has been doing really well and just continues to get stronger and stronger. She is at 12mths with gross motor and 14-16 mths in speech and fine motor! This means she has caught up to her actual age! Ramsey has started walking and Evie does really well when you hold her hands. She will do it when she wants like everything else, so we are not rushing her.

She has done well with her helmet. She wears it 23 hrs a day. We decide when her hour is and usually if we have an event or something, we let it be then. You are also supposed to take it off when it is hot or in the water, so she will probably be wearing it less when summer gets here.We try to make it a "happy" time when we put it on and we clap and say so pretty and she smiles real big and claps her hands! She claps and gets real excited when we take it off also, of course :)

We can already tell such a big difference in her head shape, so hopefully not much longer!

Saturday, Ramsey started coughing like a seal. Sunday, barking like a dog.

We didn't let her go to all the fun parties since we were unsure about what it was. Sunday night she started running a fever so we called the nurse and they said if it was croop there wasn't much they could do and it also could just be allergies or something so see how she does at night and call in the morning if she wasn't better.

Monday morning rolled around and at 9:45 the lazy girls decided to wake up! Ramsey was still coughing and didn't want to eat much so i called the nurse and they said to come on in. I am glad we did because she does have croop :(

They gave us a liquid steroid to give her. They said it would probably make her fussy and maybe a little aggressive. Umm, it had the complete opposite effect on her. We laid them down for their nap at 1:30. I heard Evie at 4:30 so i went to get her. Ramsey was face first with her bottom in the air so i let her stay asleep. By 6:00 i figured it was time to go get her! Poor thing! She just walks around making a whining sound. She went right back to sleep at 8:00. Hopefully she will get well soon!

Birthdays and Baby Showers

Yes, you have seen this post before. It is starting to become our weekend ritual!

Saturday, we had Charlies 2nd birthday party! I cant believe he is already two! What is so funny about his bday is we were actually at BBQ fest two years ago when Hayley called and said she was in labor. We got her call around midnight and rushed to the hospital to keep her company!

After the party we headed to a Baby Shower we helped throw for our friends Ashley and Tommy. They are such a sweet couple. Tommy and Jonathan lived together in college so we have lots of memories with them! They are having a sweet baby boy Easton and we had so much fun celebrating with them!

Sunday, we had another birthday party to go to. Jude turned one! He had a fun bug party.

These are what they say you should get your spouse for your five year wedding anniversary. hmm...not very exciting.

I think going to Miami would be a better gift! Jonathan is in his friends wedding there in June so we are heading there the week before to celebrate our anniversary.

Jonathan actually just went earlier this year for work. He had some interesting stories for me and i am pretty sure our attire is not going to fit in! ha i guess i better break out my tight and short white dress and some stilettos. You can see me in that right?!

Our actual big day was May 14th, last Friday and after receiving this in an email...

We took Uncle Michael up on his offer and headed downtown for dinner at itta bena. It's a secret restaurant at the top of BB Kings on Beale Street. There aren't any signs or anything, you take the back stairs up to the top. If you come here to visit or live here in Memphis and haven't been you need to go!

Then we braved the thunderstorms and went to the river for BBQ fest. We had several friends with tents and made our way through them all. We had a lot of fun but also realized we might be too old to ever go again! There was a group of 16 yr old girls in front of us in line and we both had the hardest time trying to decide if we would let Evie and Ramsey head down there at that age! We went in high school and probably were way to naive to know what was actually going on around us, but being there Friday and watching people, seeing fights and people be arrested umm no, they are not allowed! ha

For about a week they both went through a stage of HATING the bath! They would scream and cry when we would put them in so we decided to be big girls and got rid of the ducky we were using. Now they take their baths together and they have so much fun! We had to buy a bath mat though because they would slip and slide and try to stand and then fall and i got pretty nervous!

It looks like Ramsey is lecturing Evie! ha

Mothers and Strawberries

Remember last year?

We headed back to Humboldt for the girls 2nd Strawberry Festival!

They should have been in the parade dont you think?!

My grandparents got back from Orlando later than usual this year. They haven't seen the girls since Christmas! My grandmother fractured her hip and has been in rehab there until last wkd. They flew into Nashville the weekend of the flood, were stuck for a day then traveled through all sorts of detours to try to get to Humboldt last Sunday. We are thankful for their safe return!

We got to their house early Friday morning and met my friend Kristen and her family, my aunts and cousin to watch the parade. The girls loved watching all the floats and listening to the bands.

After the parade we went back to my grandparents, ate lunch and spent time with them. My grandfather picked the strawberries from his backyard and we had them with ice cream. The best strawberries i have ever had! The girls enjoyed them also! Well Evie would spit them out after sucking all the ice cream off...

Evie went helmet free for most of the day. You aren't supposed to wear it if it is hot and i mean you cant put a cute bonnet over a helmet right??

I had a great Mothers Day weekend. Jonathan spoiled me and took care of the girls Friday night so i could go out with friends. Saturday, we had a girls day at the zoo with Addie and Ella. Saturday night, we went to dinner with one of our favorite couples, Nick and Casey. Sunday morning Jonathan took care of the girls and made me cinamon rolls for breakfast (my fav) we went to church, then Chris and Claire's for lunch!

I had a wonderful 2nd Mothers day! I am thankful to have a wonderful mother to show me the ropes and help me so much! I hope i can be that great for my little girls also!

I love you Evie and Ramsey and am honored to be your "ma ma"!!
