Nene Royal lights up Times Square ahead of AGT live show
Thai teenage singer and guitarist Nene Royal has appeared on a giant LED screen in New Yorkâs Times Square as part of a Charoen Pokphand (CP) campaign supporting her ahead of Americaâs Got Talent Season 21 live shows.
Images of the display were shared yesterday, August 22, by TikTok user Ka Jame. The display featured 16 year old Americaâs Got Talent contestant Nene Royal, whose Thai name is Rattikan Amlai, alongside the message âThailandâs Pride Nene Go Goâ in the famous Manhattan tourist district.
CP organised the Times Square campaign after Nene advanced through the Judgesâ Callbacks on Americaâs Got Talent Season 21, securing her place in the live rounds.
Ka Jame said Nene and 100 lucky participants had made history in the middle of Times Square and expressed pride in seeing the young Thai contestant featured there.
She also wished Nene well for her upcoming performance, encouraging her to enjoy herself on stage and impress the judges.
Nene Royal secured her place in the live shows after performing Museâs Hysteria during the competition. Her next round begins on August 26, at 7am Thailand time.

The Times Square display follows a warm reception for Nene in California just days earlier, when Thai supporters welcomed her at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on August 19.
Supporters welcomed Nene and her mother with signs, cheers, and flowers. Nene thanked the group for the unexpected reception and said she would give her best in the competition. She later left LAX for Hotel Dena Pasadena, where AGT contestants are staying.
