The Pride of Southern Miss

So I just wanted to wish everybody who started camp the past few days good luck, and to say I hope to hear from you often! I intend to be at Pride Preview at the PowerHouse or whatever they're calling it now, so yeah...Look for me there!

ANYBODY HERE know where I can find an .mp3 of the "Pride" playing John Williams' "Liberty Fanfare"????

I'm on a SERIOUS John Williams kick since the Olympic Theme & Fanfare has been all over the TV....and I think
I gave away the one CD I own(ed) that has "Liberty Fanfare" on it, and it's one of my fave things we ever
play(ed).

HELP!? (Anybody??)

Thanks!

I just wanted to take a second to congratulate the concert band performers on a well done concert. It was very exciting as well! Good job guys!

Hola everybody! My name's Menya Jefferson and I was a member of the Pride Guard from 95-97. I've also been a guard instructor at the Drum Major/Guard camp at Southern for the past Lord knows how many years! :)

Keep it real over there in H'burg and I'll be back this summer at camp....again....for the umpteenth time..... ;)

Ciao.

I NEED MORE COWBELL!

Picture inspired me ... hey, it's almost christmas! When does school get out for yall? I want to come visit if the timing's right.

What's up guys? Saxophonist Corey Hosey here... How'd the game go last Saturday? Heard we won. I had a sinus infection so I didn't come. And we finally get to go to another bowl game!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello.

I can't believe I forgot to mention!

Today (Wednesday) is the official "I <3 Scotland Day!"

For those of you who traveled with the Pride last Easter to the Edinburgh Easter Festival, today at marching rehearsal wear any Scotland garb you bought while we visited that great country...Or... you can wear your festival shirts that were given to us.

I'm going to be doing both. I guess that's all. I just wanted to mention it, since I guess that's part of my duty here.

I stole a great icon for our community. With all the cowbell jokes Toughie's been making. It just fits.

Hey, the game was on ESPN Friday night, so I got to watch up here in SC! Yay!

1.) Seriously guys, why was the game so close the whole time??
2.) Good to see Derrick Nix is still around even though his big bro deflected to U of South Carolina
3.) They showed The Pride at least 4 times when I was watching (we started watching at a restaurant, so we missed some of the action on the ride home) and didn't show UAB's band once
4.) The Pride sounded ROCK AWESOME except for some freaking sloppy trumpet on the fight song, every time.
5.) The difference between us and UAB was some WICKED BASS on your parts. UAB was UBER top heavy. Man Southern sounds delicious.
6.) You guys are sexy!

USM no. 1 in C-USA. Rock on!

The new drum solo.... I... can't...breathe.

I totaled it up in my head. I march/run approximately 80 YARDS during the drum solo alone. Can you believe it? Just during the drum solo! Running! AAAHHH!!! And to do it 7 or so times? Are you kidding me? ARRGH...

I hope it looks darn good. Well...let me put it this way. IT HAD BETTER!!!

*goes to lie down in a cool dark room for 5 minutes till she has to be at work with a 500 degree double oven*
