I would like to apologize for being away for so long. We moved a few months back and it took a while to get situated and everything. I'm happy to have my own computer again!

I would like to post a photo from a convention I went to with my baby daughter. You cannot see the whole outfit, but I am wearing the carousel print from Bodyline. The blouse was a thrift find, and it is my favorite because it is so comfortable and unique! I called it sporty-sweet because of the ponytail.... What do you think?

Wigs and your thoughts on them?

Hello, Sweetheart Lolis!

A couple of days ago I was playing dress up with my sister, trying to find the best possible way how to wear my new dress. When we did, it looked great, a crossover between Classic and Sweet and my wig seemed to give it just the right spark. My sister was really enthusiastic about it. And yet I looked at myself... and felt extremely uncomfortable and fake, like wearing a sissy costume. When I took off the wig, it eased the feeling a lot. Given how widespread and normal wigs are in Lolita fashion, I was quite surprised I felt like that - though recalling the few times I wore the wig in public, it was always so.

So I wonder, does any of you have a similar feeling while wearing a wig, falsies or coloured contacts?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share a little something I whipped up this afternoon while I was bored, a little white cotton peter pan collar with some teeny lace ^.^ I figure it will be quite nice to wear with tees and things for casual lolita :)

a design!

Hello! :D

So, I've been on a kick for sewing ideas and went through my collection of fabric and found a had quite a large quantity of this:

It's a beautiful cotton print I got from my great-grandmother after she passed. She sewed all the way up to the end :' ) But anyways I thought it would be nice to turn into a cute jsk, and I came up with this design:

It's pretty simple, but I like it. A sweetheart neckline, chest bow, pintucking on either side of the chest bow, a gathered skirt, a ruffle, and pintucks just above to ruffle, with lace trim on the bottom of the ruffle and on the bow, neckline, and straps.

So what do you guys think? Tips, tricks, suggestions? The only huge obstacles I'm facing are that I've never constructed a bodice and I've not a clue how to make pintucks haha

Out of curiosity, what is your favorite colour in Lolita, and why?

expanding the community?

Hello! So in a post  a little while ago, I asked for some deliberation on how we might get the word out about the comm. It seems decided that it would be best to go places like your local meetup group and such and invite them. We advise you avoid the larger communities such as egl, though, to avoid receiving a ton of unnecessary hate or drama and all that jazz.

My post went something like this:
Hi! I don't mean to spam at all, I just wanted to let you guys know a little something...Myself and a couple other girls recently started a community called sweetheart lolitas, the main focus is on being a more happy, amiable community without all the drama and even often hate that happens in places like lolita secrets and egl...we don't have a definite direction yet, though we seem to be leaning towards focusing on being a good place for beginner lolitas to come and grow and post outfits and receive legit concrit in a loving environment without having to find themselves being made fun of on secrets. It's open to anyone though, whether you're experienced or not, or maybe you just want to come and be yourself without having to worry about someone trolling :D we're growing as a community, and i thought i'd invite some of you guys, and you can invite whoever else you'd like as well ^,^

and I posted it on my meetup group's facebook page with a link the the comm. I just gave a lil explanation and left it at that.

However, if anyone has a another idea, please do speak up! Anything is worth a try!

OK! Meeting in order! Order! Order! A couple of things to call to attention, first, how shall we go about gaining new members? Second, I believe we should start brainstorming ideas for 1000 Ways to Be a Lifestyle Lolita!

Here's a few:

1. Enjoy tea, as many kinds as you please, as often as possible. See if you can find a favorite, unique tea that you can share with other lolitas at a meetup!

2. Try candied flowers! Pick flowers of your choice, the best ones to use are flatter ones, such as violets, or rose petals, though any sweet flower will do, clean them, remove the inedible stems, dip in egg whites, cover in granulated sugar, and let dry! They look gorgeous decorating cakes and other desserts, and make a great lolita gift!

3. Find a local group here on livejournal! Having lolitas close to home can be great, and being involved with a group of people who share the same love as you can make any girl extra happy!

4. Don't believe the myth that you'll have a hard time building lasting relationships with girls at meetups. Sure, there's the occasional person you don't quite see eye-to-eye with, but most lolitas, especially lifestyle lolitas, tend to have many similar personality traits that make them gravitate towards lolita in the first place!

5. Try and document all your daily coords! And even if you just live as a loli, but can't yet afford a dress for every day of the week, try and record something that made your day loli anyways!

Now lets keep adding! Who knows, maybe we could even write a book for america?
