Have you ever been annoyed by people's "COMMENT/CREDIT/OR DIE" obsessions?
Do you enjoy making creative icons and showing them off?
Do you consider yourself an artist?
Are you tired of people posting bases and calling them icons?
Do you feel the whole purpose of sharing icons is to have people use them, so why bitch when people actually want to!?
If you answered yes to any of the above then this may be the perfect place for you. So join, and start sharing. XD
[1] No icons other than your own. EVER. If we find that you stole someone else's icons and posted them as your own to our community, you will be banned without warning. That's called plagiarism and were not down with that.
[1a] The same goes for hotlinking. There are many sites that will host your images for free.
[2] If your icons have a theme, or a number of themes, please post them in the subject of your post, this makes it easy to put into the memories. If your icons are just random, then put the word "random" in the subject line.
[3] This is a creative community. Please be creative as you want. We do not see bases are very creative - however, if you are an active member and post lots of extremely cool icons then the occasional base post is acceptable. If you choose to post bases, please put the word "bases" in the subject line.
[4] If you are going to post more then 2 icons, use an lj-cut. Don't make us repeat ourselves... We will delete your post if you refuse to do this. [This rule should be easy to follow. Really.] If you want to promote another community in here please also put it under a cut. Please refrain from posting the same community multiple times.
[5] You can promote the community all you want, but
steelthisicon does NOT encourage spamming other users personal journals OR spamming communities, especially if said community has a rule against spamming.[6] While we do encourage all of you [members] to participate in the community challenges, you are not required to. If 3 or more members request extra time to complete a challenge, then an extension may be given.
[7] We encourage you to leave feedback on everyone else's icons. This IS a community, let's remember to make it feel like one. Everyone loves feedback. If you do not like a user's icons there is no need to be rude when expressing your dislike for them. Maybe offer suggestions to make them better.
[8] Posting tutorials is VERY encouraged here. Us mods love to see how everyone else creates their icons. For obvious reasons, all tutorials need to posted under an lj-cut. We also ask that you have them friends locked. This equals more motivation for people to join the community and not just steal. Also, more work is put into creating an actual tutorial so being under lock is a good thing.
[9] Remember to have fun and help make this the best icon community. XD

I saw an icon on here before and I can't find it anymore, is there an easier way to locate the icon I'm searching for? We use the memories here A LOT. If you go through the memories, you can see they are broken down by the theme of the post. We also have a list of the challenges here for easy access.
I don't really make icons but can I join for the soul purpose of stealing? Yes.

Do you take icon requests? No, simply because we have TONS of free icons that are for the taking that we just made when we were bored/inspired. And, we already hound our members weekly to make icons specifially for our challenges. There are plenty of other icon communities out there that take requests, we however, do not.
