Plus-sized Steampunk Fashion (CLOSED) No longer Active

This community is no longer active - it remains only for historical and archival purposes. Please join us instead on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/groups/551867321497960

This community was spawned as the result of a post made on the LJ community fatshionista. The Steampunk and Steam Fashion are wonderful things, but like the rest of the fashion world, often times plus-sized people or people who's dimensions don't fall into fashion norms are left by the wayside. This community was created with that in mind as a resource for people to share steampunk fashion ideas for the "rest" of the world that doesn't fit into a size 4,6, or 8.

No, you don't necessarily have to be plus-sized to be here, nor do you necessarily have to be steampunk! Hopefully you'll have an interest in one or the other, but membership is open at this point, so c'mon in, look around, have a chat!

This community is LGBT friendly and welcomes you! Hatred towards any group for any reason will not be tolerated.

The Moderator(s)/Maintainers reserve the right to delete / disable posts that do not fit into the community.

As of 09/27/2010 the membership to the community is now moderated due to repeated spam accounts joining and posting inappropriate content. Once you've requested membership, Please send me a message that you've requested joining. As long as I can determine from your Livejournal entries or message that you're not a spambot, you're in! Otherwise, your request may be denied or put on hold. Also, this community is primarily in english, so if your livejournal is primarily in another language, please send me a quick message just letting me know you've requested membership so I can get it approved ASAP as well.

Few things I do ask as rules:

NEW 01/22/11 This is primarily an english speaking community. As we begin to see more worldwide Steampunk Fans join, I request that posts in this community be in English.

No fashion-policing of Steampunk. No statements of "That's not steampunk!" or "That's not steampunk ENOUGH." will be allowed. Steampunk fashion is an interpretive art, and everyone chooses to define steampunk in their own way. This community respects this.

Don't be an asshat. Please be respectful here, no flame wars, name calling, etc.
Let's avoid drama, shall we?

Don't spam.

SALES POST GUIDELINES FOR STEAMPUNK_PLUS: (Subject to further updates/changes if/as necessary.)

1. Please preface your title with Sales Post: to help make your post easier to recognize - also please include a clear description of what's for sale in your post. Please try to make your items relate to the community - either steampunk, plus, or both. (Jewelry, accessories, etc. are welcome, your dining room set, not so much.) If you're selling clothing items, please include sizing if possible.

2. Most people indicated a preference for LJ-cuts, especially if multiple/large pictures are involved. Please place sales posts under an LJ-cut to save readers who may want to skip those posts.

3. Also, tags were indicated as a preference by most, but not all. I would suggest to maybe tag your post with specific keywords (boots, blouse, pants, skirt, etc.) but this is not mandatory. However, I would like to strongly recommend using a tag of "sales" so all sales posts will be easier to find should someone like to go back to your post later.

4. Please be reasonable with your sales posts - no more than one a week, please, and please do not re-list items more than 3 times.

5. Not mandatory, but please, use the best quality pictures you can, and best descriptions possible - this should be common sense, as the point of a sales post is to sell the item, right?

Please see the following sales post as an example:

Picture posting is okay, but to save folks, let's keep 'em behind an lj-cut.
