I think you're right on this one. Given the state of the game right now, it would be an incredible disaster.

I've never seen a game which started off as paid and went F2P not immediately turn to utterly unplayable ♥♥♥♥. DBD's cheater problem has always existed and has become an epidemic with their EGS nonsense and extremely slow ticket response times. F2P would just make it worse. The game started out as P2P and not dedicated servers, that's the root cause, I seriously doubt they rewrote everything to have server side input validation.

That would be interesting to see.

I saw a YT video earlier where MintSkull was speculating the "anti-cheat improvements" are because BHVR are planning to go F2P with DBD.
