Woke Games Detected - Know Before You Buy

Why does this group exist?

Woke Games Detected was created for one simple reason: players deserve to know what they are buying.

The gaming industry is full of games competing for our money and, more importantly, our time. Some games are genuinely worth it. Others are not. Some are built around political or ideological messaging that may be important to know about before making a purchase.

This group exists to document, discuss, and bring attention to those elements so players can make their own decisions.

We are not here to tell you what you are allowed to play.

We are here to make sure you know what you are buying before you spend your money.

Think Before You Buy

A game can cost $10, $30, or $70, but the bigger investment is often your time.

You only have so many hours to play. Why spend them blindly?

Before buying a game, look at the developers, the publisher, the content, the design decisions, the monetization, and the messaging behind the product. Decide whether it deserves your money and your time.

Don't buy something simply because everyone else is buying it.

Your Money Is Your Vote

Companies respond to consumer demand.

When people continue buying products regardless of their quality, practices, or messaging, there is little financial incentive for companies to change.

On the other hand, consumers who research products and choose where to spend their money send a clear message:

Quality matters. Consumer choice matters. Transparency matters.

You do not have to support every product simply because it is popular, heavily marketed, or made by a company you already know.

What We Do

Woke Games Detected aims to:

Identify games containing significant political or ideological messaging.
Document DEI-related content and other potentially controversial design decisions.
Provide evidence and sources whenever possible.
Discuss developers, publishers, and their practices.
Help players understand what they are purchasing.
Encourage people to research games before spending their money.
Distinguish documented facts from opinions and community interpretations.

We will not expect everyone to agree with every classification.

You decide what matters to you.

Our goal is to provide information so that decision can be made consciously rather than blindly.

Research Over Hype

This is not about attacking people for having different opinions.

If we make a claim, we should be able to explain where it came from.

Screenshots, developer statements, interviews, official documentation, in-game evidence, and other reliable sources are preferred over rumors.

Community reports can also be useful, but they should be treated as user experiences and opinions, not automatically as established facts.

The standard should be simple:

Research it. Document it. Let the player decide.

Don't Waste Your Time

Gaming should be entertainment.

There are thousands of games competing for your attention, and you will never have enough time to play all of them.

Choose carefully.

Support the games you believe deserve your money. Skip the ones that do not.

Know what you're buying.
Think before you spend.
Choose where your money goes.
