New Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

June 3 - Soap P | 0 Comments

A new Tomb Raider game is coming out on February 12, 2027.

Presentation seems like a return to form for the most part. Dual pistols are having a return, something a lot of fan wanbted to see which was missing from the survival trilogy.

Hopefully the tone of the new raider will be more consistant. In the survivor trilogy Lara kept getting beat up and messed up in cut scenes, seeing her suffering and struggling, while in the gameplay she's kick ass and take names wiping out waves of mercenaries.

Everyone has a different take on Lara as we now have basically 4 trilogies. Everyone has their prefered era.

It would be nice to see the independant strong woman who doesn't have to prove anything to anyone without leaning into the over the top girl boss mentality that breaks realism these days. It's all about balance, don't make her a victim but don't make her a Mary Sue. The expectations for such a legendary and strong pop culture character is obvious, lets hope this entry is a solid addition to the Tomb Raider Legacy.

Veteran voice actress Alix Wilton Regan will be emboding the voice of Lara for this entry. Here's a quick random interview I pulled up if you wish to take a peak. Check out her IMDB page, she's been in a LOT of titles.

Cheers to Lara, may she always be part of our culture.

PC Won The Console War

November 10, 2024 - Soap P | 3 Comments

Check out DX's video about how the PC won the console wars.
At least it seems to be now. The future is always changing.

(He's got good Tomb Raider videos too, worth a watch)

I share many sentiments in this video essay. I recall thinking, man I wish Lollipop chainsaw was on PC.

Here we are years later, where all these older games and new games are coming to PC.

For someone who grew up with a PC and have been a PC gamer my whole life, I can say PC's are so much easier and simpler to use then they used to.

Making gaming more accessible.

I've dabbled with Consoles, but my heart is with PC gaming. In 2019 I made a Twitter post about how every Hitman Game is available on PC.

Not to mention the backwards compatibility, it's the most resilient. If one really wants to he can go all the way back to DOS and still play those games with Dos Box.

And lets face it, modding is so much more accessible on PC and it makes games live longer. Not to mention adds sexiness for those who want that.

Good lord those mods !!!
