SERIOUS BUG causing item duplication when restoring from backup
When the player dies and restores a backup from before the death, the gravestone containing the items remains in the world, allowing items to be duplicated.

Not a bug. World and Character are separate saves. If you only restores one of them, the other is of course unchanged.

Don't save scum.
Item Duplication Exploit by Restoring a Character Save After Death

Problem Description

In Valheim, world and character data are saved separately. When a character dies, their items are stored in a tombstone at the location of death, allowing the player to return and retrieve their equipment and resources.

However, this separation between saves allows players to exploit an inconsistency in data persistence to duplicate items.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Enter a world with a character that has items in their inventory.
2. Die, either intentionally or during normal gameplay, causing the items to be stored in a tombstone in the world.
3. Restore the character save to a state from before the death.
4. Re-enter the world where the death occurred.

Current Behavior

After restoring the character save, the inventory and progress from before the death are recovered. However, the tombstone created upon death remains in the world, containing the same items that have already been restored to the character's inventory.

As a result, the player can retrieve the items from the tombstone while keeping the items already restored to the character, effectively duplicating equipment, resources, and other items.

Suggested Fix

The tombstone should be linked to the character's save state. If the player restores a save from before the death, the tombstone created after that point should be automatically destroyed or removed from the world.

It may not be a bug, but I consider it an exploit that goes against fair play.
Again, don't save scum.
Not a bug. if you don't like it, trow the duplicates on the ground. they disappear. Move on.
Do not restore character, if not nessesary.

But yet you are fine with rolling back your character after dying. End the thread, you're only digging yourself into a hole you will not get out of.
I don't think this feature makes sense, but anyway, I'm not going to use character restoration anymore.
