Native Linux release?

Since the game's built in Unity, a native Linux build should be easy enough to be worthwhile, and with Windows 10 drowning in telemetry and forced reboots like it is, and Windows 7 EOL around the corner, Linux releases of new games are going to be even more welcome than they are already.

I did a bit of searching and found a tweet mentioning Linux, but as I don't see any mention of it on the website or Steam page and the sample version doesn't seem to have a Linux build, some confirmation would be nice. Is one still definitely in the cards?

If the Linux demo exists, why don't you add it onto Steam?

So far as we can see they’re only letting us put one up. We went with the OS 95% of our users are on.

Good to hear! Though, it seems you CAN in fact have demos for multiple platforms. Disgaea2 has demos for Windows and Linux.

I'm glad to hear that a Linux release is planned. I played the original Freedom Planet on Linux and absolutely adored it.

So it launched without a native Linux port, and people are already saying Proton doesn't work.
After years in the making, this isn't a great first impression
