Tom Clancy's EndWar

Modding Endwar
Has anyone figured out how to mod this game? I found some ini files in the game directory that apparently govern unit stats called "teamstats.ini" but im not sure i can actually affect the game via this ini. Can anyone shed some light?

I've never played Endwar on PC before so I didn't notice that, but that's actually a very important part of how Theatre of War worked I think.

The game's based off the unreal engine, so in theory it's very possible to redirect "Theatre of War" to a dedicated server that collects every user's teamstats.ini file. Chances are, team, stats.ini holds your win/loss per day, and of those whom you played with/against, so the server could compare stats to everyone' else's .ini donations to verify accuracy.

I used to make mods and mutators for UT99, and there are still dedicated servers to this day up and running for it. I also got Unreal Engine 4 cuz I wanted to do some work on the new Unreal before Epic cancelled it. Next chance I get I'll buy Endwar it on here, and see if Ubisoft didn't cook Epic's code bad enough that it can't be done.
Sorry for double post, but...

Holy hell, Just without opening the Unreal Editor and viewing the source files as .txt's, i could tell that 90% of the game's code is Open Source AND moddable!!! The only thing I see so far that is cooked is the Voice Recognition Software's algorithms.

If I can find anybody round here who is good at programming dedicated servers, not only could we resurrect Theatre of War completely, we could make a whole new Unholy Monster of a game!

♥♥♥♥...We could make a BZ98R Mod in Unrealscript (see Battlezone 98 Redux in store for context) and combine the Voice Recog software with it....I can't believe nobody has ever tried to expand on EndWar's code before...

I need an older version of the Unreal Editor though -- the current version does not run on my PC. I have the 1999 edition but, tbh, I think the UT3 edition would be the most compatible for debugging and compiling. I'll keep ya updated if I ever manage to make successful changes to ToW...

Wow!

Any news about?
Honestly been thinking about this lately. But just starting from scratch with Unreal Engine and making a fan version of Endwar. Not exactly my skillset, to develop. But the tools available in Unreal with Quixel make me think its doable over time. Instead of trying to mod the current version.

I agree the voice commands would be difficult. But, if those couldn't be implemented. It wouldn't be the end of the world. But I can imagine that voice recognition has probably progressed in the past decade. So it would be great to have.

I will make a new thread for this.
Okay not really related here but i've been dabbling in cheat engine (trying to raise the spending amount in the barracks) but it seems to me that "it" (the code/address) keeps on changing after a game reset or upon starting a new campaign, can anyone else confirm this? and if anyone has the *Permanent* code/address for it can you share it please?

0A4472E0 was the last code which worked, hope that/this helped someone.
i just want to turn off WMDs
Is it possible that you could rip some sound bites and voicelines? I've been trying to find the "Unit Incapacitated" (When a unit's health reaches zero it plays a guitar riff) down sound for so long.
It impossible to mod the game even changing stuff in config does nothing, the only thing that worked was Localization files.
Does anybody know how can I access the texture files of the game?

You need to download UE Viewer. Once you run it, target your Endwar folder and override detection to Endwar. Should be able to view everything and export that way.

That sound gives me PTSD when I hear it go off... Its nostalgic!
Hmm might have to look into this too, I think it would be good to map out the game and first maybe build some mod tools or something.
