Files size should be reduced
Am I going to get boo'd if, in the big 26, i'm saying that the game size is still a problem ?

I second this. Over 100 gigs for a game is a bit on the ridiculous side.
Yes you'll get boo'ed because you're not the first, second or even tenth person to say it. We get it. Want to complain about it to the Devs, do it somewhere they will see it.
id love to play the game but cant bc i only have 500 gigabyte SSD on my laptop and i want to also have other games installed that i play
Almost every game seem to be >80 gbs now a days, gotta buy more space.
SoT is LITERALLY too big to play
I had about 60 hours of game time before I eventually just stopped playing. Recently I wanted to download it again, but due to recent content updates (and possibly past updates as well), I am no longer able to install SoT anymore due to how bloated it has gotten.

I have uninstalled unnecessary apps, games, and even defragmented my computer, and yet I can't play due to the sheer size of the game, and still being about 30 GB short.

AFAIK, I'm either going to have to say goodbye to this game, save up for a console just for this one game, or hope for the impossibility that the developers learn to compress their files.
Buying more space is usually the fastest and safest option.

Defragmenting doesn't creates space, just accomodates the used files in a way the disk can read it in one go instead of jumping from one sice to another of the disk just to read 1 file. It's meant to speed up loading times a bit and make disks take less effort in reading stuff.
Is ur hard disk large enough?
Maybe move some of ur files to an external hard disk? 1TB external HDD is like $20?
This game used to be 36 gb back during A Pirate Life was added

237 GB Hard drive.
Admittedly, despite being being in my mid 20's, I am not very tech literate, so an external hard drive was not in my mental range of possibility. TYSM

Hmm 237 GB internal hard drive? My SoT files are on my internal hard disk. I don't know if u can run SoT with the files on an external hard disk.

After moving everything movable to an external hard disk, u will still need to reserve some space for basic things like OS, Steam app and browser apps. Windows 11 by itself already takes up 64 GB. 237-64 = 173. SoT is like 133 GB. So 173-133 GB = 40 GB for everything else..? Very close to max. Can still try. External hard disks are always nice to have anyway.

Or maybe u should get a bigger internal hard disk? Internal 1TB HDD is like $70-140 for me. If SSD (faster), it'll cost $160-$450. Make sure u know how to set it up, or find a tech savvy friend, or bring ur PC to a shop.

Also check to make sure u have enough RAM/Memory.

RAM/Memory is like table space.
Hard disk is like shelf space.
You're blaming the game for you having a disk that is extremely small by 2016 standards.

Unfortunately, your hard drive is extremely small in 2026. It might be enough to run your OS and your important programs, but for some gaming you really need to buy another hard drive to add to your storage. You must go out and buy at least a 1TB SSD and install your games on it.

And you mentioned defragmenting. I really hope you are not defragmenting an SSD. SSD is not HDD, it has no disks, nothing to be fragmented on a physical disk. But if you use a HDD to run your Operating system on it.... just don't. Buy an SSD.
I mentioned this before, but apparently everyone here would rather just blame you for not buying more storage LOL, awful and toxic fanbase.
