I cant actually play the game and get better because people just constantly board.

Blunderbomb the ladder to keep them off
Once you've put a hole on their ship they can't afford to board spam

idk maybe if u just listen for them boarding then shoot them off with blunderbuss

I've never played HG, for me this is not Sea of Thieves, but just a primitive PvP mode. So if you don't like it, go to the High Seas, and there you have tons of options how to defend from boarding.
