question about saves

does anyone know how exactly autosaves work in this game? my pc crashes often and randomly wich usually rolls back all run progress sending me home even if i exit the game to back up steam cloud save, i wonder if there is any solution?

Imo this is pointless and feels like cheating in a game where you are supposed to progress from one run to another, but you do you.

Basically the game autosaves every time you enter a new room or chamber and after each combat encounter. The only time you will have to restart an entire run when quitting is when:

- you lost some HP via combat
- after you fish at a chamber

You can easily check when it is safe to quit by opening up the menu (ESC button on KBM) and checking if the Quit button is greyed out. If it is then the only way you can quit is by choosing the other option "Give Up" which restarts your run. If the Quit button is white (not greyed out) and is clickable then it means you can safely quit the game without losing progress.

so im guessing there is no way to go back to previous autosave then? it kind of makes sense to use a system like this to prevent save scam... but what i'm really asking is if there's a way for me to mess with some files to back up my run
