It's been ages since I've posted anything in this comm, which is a real shame because Smidgen is indeed a personable feline, and undoubtedly the most photogenic cat I've ever met. Here are a couple of photies of her Aunt Tudi took just yesterday. I swear, the cat literally poses, knowing a photo op when she sees one, even in her sleep!
It's a tad dark. I'm gonna try to get another movie in better light, but I never know when she's going to do this, so this is as good as it gets for now. In the past, I've attempted to describe this. Basically, Smidgen sits up and rubs her ears when she wants attention. She's a one of a kind cat. She's a weirdo.
Smidgen has been coming into her own, as all cats do when they move from kittenhood to cathood the first two years of their lives. One of the habits she's developed started out as making biscuits on my hoohoo (with blankets and clothing separating her claws from me, of course) every night before settling in for bed. This has expanded over the past month or so. Instead of just going straight for the hoohoo mauling, she would jump up on my chest and demand a five to ten minute face and head rubbing session. This has now graduated to at least a fifteen minute face and head rubbing session with my verbally worshipping her, telling her what a lovely cat she is, and how beautiful and wonderful she is, and how lucky I am to have her in my life. Once she is satisfied that I've grovelled before her greatness enough, she then proceeds to making biscuits on my hoohoo for about twenty minutes and off to sleep she goes.
Habits like this expand even more and grow deeper with age, so I'm figuring that, by 2012, I'll have to go to bed by 7 PM just to get in all my Smidge-time and still get a decent night's rest.

Smidgen is odd one when it comes to water. She either dips her hand in the water then licks the water off her fingers, or she keeps her hand, sometimes all the way up her arm, in the water and drinks right at the edge of her hand or arm. Either way, she has to have her hand involved in the ingestion of H2O.
Smidgen would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday, whatever it is you celebrate. She celebrates all of them, just like her human does. It's a mishmash entitled Christmahannukkwanzaayule. I think I heard her maiowing "Jingle Bell Rock" the other day. Smidgen is one hep cat.
Unlike her human, Smidgen likes kids, at least cat children. We have a new kindle of kittens in the back yard and one of them, Scrumpy, is quite social both with humans and cats. Scrumpy decided to try her luck with Smidgen and Smidgen decided it was play time.
Smidgen is really digging the Spring. She's also enamoured with the contorted filbert, which is the perfect shady hiding spot for any discerning feline.
Another thing she likes to do is jump out at Shmoop and Motley from under the tree, alarming them greatly. I swear I can almost hear her chuckle as they scamper off in fright.
Smidgen is a hunk of muscle covered in a yellow fur coat. Her sister/companion Shmoop, on the other hand, is a lump of fat in Cab Calloway Zoot Suit coat. Most of the time Smidgen loves having Shmoop around so she can use her as a pillow. Sometimes, though, Smidgen gets tired of only getting to use Shmoop's butt as a pillow.
Smidgen has commandeered my bed and refuses to move. Behold as she plays peekaboo and watches Salem's Lot on the telly! Oh and, by the way, Smidgen is no longer a Smidgen. She's a little over 9 pounds of solid cat muscle.
