Channel Islands of California

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Channel Islands of California are eight islands off the coast of California. They are inside a wide curve of the Pacific Ocean, called a bight, between Santa Barbara and San Diego.[1]

The four northern islands are part of the Transverse Ranges geologic province, and the four southern islands are part of the Peninsular Ranges geologic province.[2]
