Hello all. Here's the latest version of the stage directions for the skit. I'm also e-mailing them to everyone in the skit whose e-mail address I have. I'll also print out several copies to hand out. I wanted to do it before Karaoke tonight, but didn't have time, so I'll print them out later tonight or tomorrow and hand them out at the next practice or whenever I see peoples. Feel free to print out your own as well, the more copies we have of this thing, the more likely they'll be on hand when needed.

Planning a skit practice for Saturday night. Who can make it?

There was a decent sized turnout for this one. Thanks to everyone who showed up. It would have been nice to get more accomplished, but it seemed almost everyone was in a drinking mood, and I have to say I was too. The drama :/

Anyway, we've settled on M. Bison for Chibi, and are in the process of acquiring the necessary materials. I think we ought to be able to use some of the same choreography from the Cammy vs. Sagat portion, since it mostly consisted of Sagat simply "strong-arming" Cammy rather than using any moves that would be specific to Sagat, and that works just as well for Bison.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do the Psycho Drill? It's the move where Bison spins horizontally across the stage. We've discussed using a standee with two sections attached perpendicularly to each other, and having it spin as it's carried across stage. I might try it with a miniature to see how it looks. To get the orange glow, we could use the strobe light, which we'd already discussed using for the teleport. After the teleport, we'd simply have the light person drop an orange filter over the light. The strobe would also minimize the two-dimensionality of the spinning standee.

Which reminds me, we didn't include a light person in our group. So that makes 12 on stage, and 16 total.

We've also discussed adding Chuck Norris for the finale, just roundhouse kicking the crap out of everyone. DOES ANYONE KNOW SOMEONE WHO LOOKS LIKE CHUCK NORRIS AND CAN BE IN THE SKIT? We'd probably put him in WTR gear, because it's recognizeable:

We're not set on doing that at all, but if we can find someone who strongly resembles Chuck Norris, then I think the idea will have potential.

I'm trying to put together a big one within the next few days.

How does Tuesday at 7:00 work for everyone?

Jennifer, Becky, and I did some brainstorming tonight, and here's where we're at:

The full cast, including background characters:

Ken (Andy)
Guile (Aaron)
Chun Li (Jennifer)
Vega (Ben)
Cammy (Becky)
M. Bison/Sagat (Chibi)
Stage Ninja 1 (Justin)
Stage Ninja 2 (James?)
Stage Ninja 3 (James 2)
Stage Ninja 4 (David?)
Chicken Choker (Matt?)
Guy with Scales
Standing Guy with Hat/Backdrop Holder 1
Bike Rider
Backdrop Holder 2
Backdrop Holder 3
Sound Guy (Glen)

Any position that doesn't have a name next to it in parenthesis is open. Obviously anyone reading this already has a part in the skit, but if you know of anyone who might be interested, please let me know.

Stage ninjas:
For the stage ninjas, we plan to use full ninja costumes. I have one someone can borrow, and if anyone knows where to get a hold of another one, that'd be awesome. Otherwise, we'll be buying, renting, or making them.

Anyone interested in a stage ninja position should be able to do heavy lifting. Stage ninja positions will involve lifting fighters and carrying them across stage.

Background characters/Backdrop holders:
Regular practice is not required for these positions. Just let me know ahead of time that you're interested. Aquiring the costume will be up to you. If you can make the costume youself, that'd be great, because we'd like to get as many hand-made costumes as possible into the costume judging. That being said, most of the background costumes consist of items that can be easily store bought, so don't kill yourself over it.

Also, we discussed stage layout, and here's what we've got:

I'll try and get a meeting together soon with more of the cast. Please contact me if you've got a specific day and time in mind that would work for you.

Thanks
-Andy

We're trying to have a skit meeting at Chibi's place before Karaoke tonight (Wednesday). It'd be at around 6:00 or 6:30. I know it's very last minute for some people, but basically, call me if you're able to show up, and if enough people can make it, we'll do it. Chibi's place is in Indian River. If you need directions to it, call me.

Hello all! Insert welcome post here...

Hopefully once everyone joins we can get this thing working. For now, I'm posting this as public, but once we start the skit discussion, we may want to switch over to friends only posting so only members can read what's going on here. I guess that would be up to Andy.

Anyway, yay... Post your skit stuff...
