Die So Fluid at Audio, Glasgow

Die So Fluid at Audio, Glasgow, 26th April, 2014. This was the fourth time I've seen Die So Fluid, and they were as brilliant as ever. I've been to hundreds of gigs in my time, and they're probably the best band I've ever seen. It's ridiculous how few people turned out to see such a consistently-great band, but at least it meant I got a front-row view of their performance! I'd actually forgotten that I had photos from this gig. That whole year seems to have vanished into the quicksand in my head. See event on Last.fm.

Apparently Tickets-Scotland's shop in Edinburgh no longer needs to send for tickets from Glasgow if they don't have them in stock, but can print them on the spot. Hurray! If I make it to this one, it'll be my first gig this year. Would anyone like to join me?

Ticket for Alcatrazz at Bannerman's, Edinburgh, on 29th September, 2019.

This gig was tremendous and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Despite Graham Bonnet being 71 (and the poor old guy certainly looks it), having crippling back trouble and him having to sit on a stool throughout the gig, his incredible voice was as good as it ever was. He actually sounded a bit hoarse when he took to the stage, but when he sang a few notes without instrumental backing, you could feel the immense power of his voice. And while I'd say Joe Stump is a Malmsteen-clone who lacks Yngwie's finesse and panache, he's still an astounding guitar-player who is capable of playing pretty much anything with ease. Graham Bonnet's partner was on bass and she's a very pretty lady with an absolutely fabulous physique; not only that, but she's a real sweetie to talk to and didn't seem the least bit impatient or irritated with all the pished fans (such as myself) trying to grab her attention after the gig. I told her they'd played the best gig I've been to for a long time, and I hope my tuppence-worth might help to make up for what must seem a big come-down for them; a band that would once have played arenas and festivals reduced to playing a tiny venue in Edinburgh for a no-doubt paltry sum of money. That's no bad thing for the punters who want to see the band and hear the music, of course. As ever, I took literally millions of photos which I shall post in due course. I hope I can actually hear tomorrow. There's a loud hissing in my ears as I type this!

I've had worse days, it's fair to say!

Die So Fluid, Idiom and Dead Eyes Opened at Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh

Die So Fluid, Idiom and Dead Eyes Opened at Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh, on 12th May, 2011. This was my second Die So Fluid gig. I think I enjoyed this one the most, on account of Sneaky Pete's being such a tiny venue, and it being only 100 yards or so up the road from my flat. See event on Last.fm.
