The upcoming Konoha parent-sensei conference is the most anticipated and most dreaded event of the month. Parents are able to discuss (and frequently gloat over) their younger children with the Academy's chuunin teachers. Important dignitaries and distinguished guests arrive from all over the Leaf Province, to give speeches, special seminars, and honour the students' progress in the celebratory feast following the conference. It's a rare occasion for Konoha's future talent to shine and receive recognition-- all before bedtime, that is.
But with the excitement comes the need for heightened security around the village. A whirlpool of planning goes on behind the scenes, a joint effort between Konoha's jounin, chuunin, and genin forces. Of course, ANBU increases their surveillance on the streets, but most of the responsibility falls on the Hokage to ensure the safety of the villagers and its guests. This year, it has fallen to Iruka-sensei to organize the various jounin and chuunin currently stationed at Konoha, and supported by genin teams. They have been paired according to their strengths and weaknesses; thus, some will not have met before the assignment has been given.

Mod: To make things a little clearer, we've paired together characters that usually wouldn't have had a chance to RP with each other. *cough* Here are the assigned pairings. Each of these will have one assigned post and environment they will need to accomplish. We shall also give each a unique… obstacle to overcome. We've given the basic guidelines for you guys to work from, so feel free to expand. All planning should be done (in character) IN THE IRUKA POST, so the mods can keep track of what you guys are up to and pitch in to clarify if there is confusion. Also, we'll know if you have trouble contacting your 'team,' and harass them accordingly. *grins*

- Itachi (if he comes back from leave soon)
We'll leave it up to them to incorporate their characters into the RP as they see fit. You're welcome to interact with any of the pairings, and/or Iruka and minor characters of your choosing. Please leave a comment if you have any problems or need more (dubious) guidance. *grins*
The most important thing to keep in mind is to keep all posts BEFORE 10PM OF THAT EVENING. This is "Phase I" of the event, and we will be revealing Phase II, which will commence roughly after 10pm. (And for those of you whining about the lack of action and suspense, stay tuned, 'cause that's going to come in the second half. *grins*)
The deadline for this will be (real-time): NEXT WEDNESDAY (AUG 31, 2005). If people get it in earlier, then we shall consider launching Phase II in advance.
