Bio: I enjoy many crafty arts like sewing costumes, embroidering EVERYTHING and cross-stitching (ok, that's a specific embroidery stitch, but I think of them as two different things, since I almost never do a cross-stitch in any of my embroidery patterns).
My favorite holiday is Halloween, which gives me plenty of opportunities for doing all of those things mentioned above that I love. I throw a big party every year and it is quite an event. I have 3x as many decorations for Halloween as I do for Christmas. Who needs santa and snowmen when you can have vampires and zombies? DUH!
My other hobby is reading. I'm very serious abut my reading - I have over 600 books currently, and must keep a database and list with me when I go shopping so I know what I have and don't double buy (not that that hasn't still happened. Grr). I started reading in 6th grade, when I had to do a book report and chose a Xanth novel, "Castle Roogna" by Piers Anthony. I fell in love with the book and bought more of the series. I also was introduced to Nancy Drew that year - and the rest was history! Now my favorite kinds of books are paranormal romance, paranormal suspense and detective/mystery stories. My favorite authors are Heather Graham, Shannon Drake, Agatha Christie, and Dakota Cassidy. Dakota Cassidy writes these hysterical series called The Accidental Series which involves women accidentally becoming a vampire, werewolf, demon, etc. by being bitten a hot guy who turns out to be one of those. They are absolutely hilarious and I highly reccomend them.
I also enjoy collecting old book covers (still attached to the books, of course) from the 60's and 70's - the art on them is really just awesome. I especially like the Agatha Christie covers. For those, I don't mind having duplicates of the actual books.
