I got two pug-nacious figures today for Christmas. Pixie and Park Avenue pug. When I go out for the after-Christmas sales I'm gonna see which others ones(that I like) I can find. They're so cute! |

Does anyone here know of or use a product that they can add to the washing machine to help collect lint and pet hair during the wash? I can remember years ago you used to be able to buy little golf ball sized balls with velcro type stuff on them but I can't for the life of me find them again! With a fawn pug and my dark clothes, I always look so trashy! LOL. Thanks in advance. Oh and here is a recent photo of my little guy, Herman:- Current Mood: hopeful |

Costume help.
Titus will be in a costume contest on Saturday. I thought it was in August, but I just got a bulletin saying it's on Saturday. OH NO! I don't know what to have him dress up as with such short notice. See... we're in it to win it! So I could really use some ideas. No-sewing or minimal sewing would be preferable. My friend is taking her pug as a "pugicorn" (unicorn pug). So I must top this! QUICK QUICK Thanks!! Love, Kalli and Titus. |

Handmade pendants & original art
Hello all!. Although I don't own a Pug, I couldn't resist sharing this with you all after viewing some of your posts and pictures. I do pet portraiture and commission work for a living, as well as sell my original artwork at my website. I have recently been making these pendants individually by hand that feature some of my previously sold artwork, Pugs included. What makes them unique, or as some say a tad unusual, is the fact these pendants are actually real dominos. They are limited edition, hand signed and numbered. Each are accented with silver leafing on a 24" leather/suede necklace. More information @ Kayann Works Gifts

hip displaysia??
Hello :) I am new and have some questions about hip displaysia in Pugs. I have a Brussels Griffon {Gizmo} that we got from a breeder as a puppy who is now 2 years old, and my husband and I are looking at getting a Pug we would like to add to our furry family from a local rescue. She is 3 years old, and healthy with the exception of the hip problem, and there are some issues with her knees that lead the vet to discourage surgery for the hip issue. I am told she was taken from a breeder who was breeding her anyway, despite the hip displaysia, so she now takes Metacam daily. She is on a strict diet to prevent weight gain, and is a healthy weight at this time. She runs around and is just as energetic and playful as the other Pugs at the rescue. Here are my questions: As someone who has a chronic pain issue, I know that in humans, pain medication either stops working after a period of time, or causes ulcers and/or other issues. Does this happen with animals as well? I want to know what we are looking at for pain management 5, even 10 years down the road. Also, since the vet is recommending against surgery at this time {we have not yet taken her in, this is all from the rescue coordinator} does that mean she will need surgery later? What, if anything, can we do once she is home with us to stop it from getting worse, or make it better for her in the future?? She will be an inside dog, obviously, and we do not have children, so no one will be picking her up in strange ways and/or bothering her the way children sometimes tend to do. Our dogs are our children, as we cannot have {and do not want} human ones. I know a bit about Pugs as they are one of the breeds that make up the Brussels Griffon mix {Affenpinscher being another}. The dogs will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time, and we use a larger 'Great Dane'-sized crate for Gizmo during the day with food & water and a bed, and plan to purchase a second one for the Pug {which we are thinking of naming 'Ela Jade' - she goes by 'Amber' now}. Gizmo has AKC vet health insurance, and Ela will obviously be added as well. I just need to know, from anyone who has experience, what to expect in the coming years and what I can do to maximize her health and comfort throughout those years.

Hello all. I look forward to listening to all of your stories. I am hoping to get a pug just as soon as I have my own apartment. currently I am living wiht someone who has a pet rabbit, and planning to go away for the summer to a job. I am very much looking forward to owning a pug. I am sure it is the breed for me, I can't wait. I thank you all for sharing your stories and pics with us future owners. Current Mood: excited |
