tonight i'm leaping from the stars to the moon to God :)
I absolutely love God for the mind that he has provided me with. Trevor and I are going to abstain from sex. Period. It seems like, for the both of us, sexual things have become an ingrained part of every relationship we've been in. Not necessarily sex, but sexual things. It's just, "normal", I guess, to make sexual activity occur between boyfriend and girlfriend. Well, Trevor and I are going to be above normal. We might kiss and such, but we're not even going to consider doing more than that for a while. We want to be different, and we want to do things right. We really truly like each other so, so much that we don't want to screw it up. I have a friend who was with his girlfriend for a year and a half before having sex, and he now says that sex makes them feel like one. I doubt I'll wait a year and a half, but I want it to feel that great when it does happen. Normal relationships are for normal people. Sexual activity in normal relationship tears people apart emotionally, rather than uniting them as one. I don't want to go through all that emotional distress. I want to concentrate on us as people, and then eventually unite us through intercourse when we can't get any closer. I don't disagree with sex before marriage, but I do believe that God wants me to treat sex as one of the sacred acts a person can commit. I think that as I grow, I realize that sex isn't just "fun" or "a way to get emotionally closer," but it's for LOVE. And just like the sex thing, Trevor and I are saving the love thing as well. Just stating this makes me feel a million times closer to him. I'm glad we are doing this for now. It feels so right and enlightening. I can't wait to get ultimately close to him by abstaining from sex and by getting to know each other more comfortably. I can't wait to tell my mom about the great news. I can't wait to continue this lovely journey with him. I can't wait to make God proud of me. :)
