Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem (In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful)

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Thank you for stopping by this community. This community is for posting verses from the Qur'an and the sunnah & hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Please make sure that when you post either a verse or a hadith, that it is authentic and not made up or fabricated. Also try to make sure that you do not post any hadith that are weak. As for posting verses from the Qur'an, please make sure that you choose the best translation as possible. The original and real qur'an is originally in Arabic, and when translating verses into English, the real meaning is lost or cannot be duplicated. Therefore, it is really important that the best translation is used, so as not to be ambiguous. If at all possible, also please try to post the context of where the verse was taken from. To the readers of this community, please be advised that verses & hadith may be taken out of context, and the only way to fully understand what each verse means and what situation it is talking about is to find the text in original Arabic or look at the tafsir & explanations by well-studied scholars.

This community is not here to discuss whether or not any qur'anic verses or ahadith are real, legit, or should be followed. There are other journals elsewhere where you can discuss that. Any trolls and disrespectful people will be banned. Please be respectful of others.

Qur'an

"Alif Laam Raa. A book which we have revealed to you (Muhammad) so that you may lead the people from out of the darknesses into the light by their Lord's leave to the path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy." [Qur'an 14:1]

The Qur'an is a Message from Allah to humanity. It was transmitted to us in a chain starting from the Almighty Himself (SWT) to the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). This message was given to the Prophet (SAW) in pieces over a period spanning approximately 23 years (610 CE to 622 CE). The Prophet (SAW) was 40 years old when the Qur'an began to be revealed to him, and he was 63 when the revelation was completed. The language of the original message was Arabic, but it has been translated into many other languages.

The Qur'an is one leg of two which form the basis of Islam. The second leg is the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). What makes the Qur'an different from the Sunnah is primarily its form. Unlike the Sunnah, the Qur'an is quite literally the Word of Allah, whereas the Sunnah was inspired by Allah but the wording and actions are the Prophet's. The Qur'an has not been expressed using any human's words. Its wording is letter for letter fixed by no one but Allah.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the final Messenger of Allah to humanity, and therefore the Qur'an is the last Message which Allah has sent to us. Its predecessors such as the Torah, Psalms, and Gospels have all been superceded. It is an obligation - and blessing - for all who hear of the Qur'an and Islam to investigate it and evaluate it for themselves. Allah has guaranteed that He will protect the Qur'an from human tampering, and today's readers can find exact copies of it all over the world. The Qur'an of today is the same as the Qur'an revealed to Muhammad (SAW).

Sunnah and Hadith
"And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, leave it. And fear Allah: truly Allah is severe in punishment. " [Qur'an 59:7]

In Islam, the Arabic word sunnah has come to denote the way Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Messenger of Allah, lived his life. The Sunnah is the second source of Islamic jurisprudence, the first being the Qur'an. Both sources are indispensable; one cannot practice Islam without consulting both of them. The Arabic word hadith (pl. ahadith) is very similar to Sunnah, but not identical. A hadith is a narration about the life of the Prophet (SAW) or what he approved - as opposed to his life itself, which is the Sunnah as already mentioned. The Prophet's (SAW) sayings are found in books called the Hadith books. Some famous collectors of Hadith are Imam Al-Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Imam An-Nasa'i, Imam Abu Dawood, Imam At-Tirmizi, and Imam Ibn Majah.

inshaAllah this community will be helpful and beneficial to everyone. Anything that is good on the community comes from Allah (swt)...and anything bad, mistaken, or false comes from ourselves. May Allah (swt) forgive us if we err and guide us all to the straight path. Ameen.
