Where have I been?
Twitter.

I haven't had lots to say...and never really have. Twitter works for me.

Why don't I crosspost Twitter to LJ? Because I figure if you cared what I was saying on Twitter, you'd be following me there...so there's no need to tell you the same stuff twice. It'd be annoying, right? That's why I don't crosspost to Facebook either. (...and ever since the latest Facebook redesign, I've used it A LOT less.)

...and so there it is.

Don't forget to subscribe to my podcasts!

Wow, Monster is actually doing something right! I hope other companies follow...

"As we begin 2009, I am happy to announce that as of midnight on December 31, 2008, Monster has discontinued all offshore operations for North American Customer Service. North American facilities in Maynard, Indianapolis, and Montreal, as well as our new facility in Florence, South Carolina will now handle all North American customer service inquiries."

Hey everyone, if I could have a few seconds of your time...

Streamy Awards

Could you nominate The Chibi Project (URL: http://chibiproject.com/ ) for "Best Reality Web Series"? It takes less than a minute and you don't have to sign up for anything. Nominations close January 23rd. If you're REALLY dedicated, you can vote once per day per IP address. (Home AND work!)

Do we stand a chance of winning? Probably not...but I'd be laughing my ass off if we made the finals. (Finalists announced March 9th.)

Thanks!

Well, the fridge is now completely spotless...mostly because it's new. The landlord delivered and installed a new fridge this afternoon. It's a little larger than the old one, so he had to get out his saw and trim half an inch off the bottom of the cabinet above the fridge area. (This was not at all surprising given how he installed the new range last winter.) Anyway, the fridge isn't brand new, but is at least under 15 years old, unlike the last one which dated back to the 1980s.

Also, he re-measured for the shelves where he took out the oven, so that hole should eventually be improved. Seems like he forgot about it completely. Figures.

I've also cleaned up the dining room and it's possible to walk all the way around the table once again. I also fixed the light fixture. Hell, if I had known the light would have been that easy to fix (or even that it WAS fixable), I would have taken care of that a long time ago!

Anyway, things are shaping up...which means I'll probably find a house soon. :)

Also, for the first time in MONTHS, I was able to get in some good, solid time playing World of Warcraft. I was also able to sleep late on Saturday. That was the first day since early October that I was able to sleep in as late as I wanted...and probably the last day for the next couple weeks.

I posted two new episodes of The Chibi Project in the last two weeks. (Episode 20 includes an appearance by Greg Ayres and is the first of several episodes we'll do where we destroy bootleg anime.) Episode 21 will be posted in a week and a half. (A week from Wednesday.) seraphwings and I have already recorded it. Episode 22 goes up the day before Thanksgiving and will be our cooking episode where we do some cooking-related experiments. (I've got a few ideas.) Episode 23 is posted in early December and then we'll end Season 1 with Episode 24 on Christmas Eve. That Christmas episode will be a very special episode with a little different format than the usual episode. Should be fun! I've already shot some footage for it.

After episode 24, we'll take a break and make some plans for Season 2. Since we'll have covered all the previous tests by the end of Season 1, there won't be anymore recap episodes covering old tests. It will all be new stuff...so we'll finally shoot bullets at those Naruto headbands.

"Thank you for registering for a chance to purchase tickets for the Red Sox postseason. Unfortunately your entry was not selected for the chance to purchase tickets to potential World Series games at Fenway Park."

Aw poop.

"The fish rots from the head as they say. So my thinking is why not cut off the head?"

Throwing money at the problem won't fix it. This whole bailout is stupid. The problem originated because the government created Fannie and Freddie and they could give out loans and not worry about the repercussions. They knew the government would be there to bail them out. Now look what's happening.

Bail them out now and we'll just have to bail them out again later.

Here's how we can help homeowners:
1) Put a moratorium on foreclosures.
2) Stop interest rate increases.
3) Require lenders to restructure mortgages to make them affordable.

I should really buy some stock. Look likes there are some bargains out there now! (You can't tell me Apple won't bounce back from their low price. They've got a firm hold on the MP3-player market. Hell, more people say "iPod" than "MP3-player"!)

I try not to spam my LJ about The Chibi Project. We post a new episode every two weeks and I figure anyone that's interested has subscribed, so I only mention it now and then.

This is one of those "now" times.

You see, two weeks ago seraphwings and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Brian Brushwood from Scam School when he performed his "bizarre magic" act at University of New England. I have met him a few times and had asked him in advance if we could meet up with him when he was in the area and if he'd be willing to appear in an episode of The Chibi Project. (He was familiar with it, but hadn't watched the DVD that I gave him back in June. I'm fine with that...he's a busy man and I'm a nobody.)

Anyway, we met up with him to shoot an episode of The Chibi Project the day after his UNE performance. It worked out well since he had no show that day and was sticking around Maine for a performance at Colby the following day. We originally wanted to shoot at Funtown (which was closed), but couldn't due to liability concerns. ...so we did it on Jekka's lawn instead.

Not wanting to commit Brian to anything complicated, I had originally planned to drive a nail into Sailor Mars's head. Then he could do the same and drive a 4" 30 penny nail into his nostril. (He does this "Human Blockhead" routine as part of his show.) However, when he offered to breathe fire, how could we refuse?!

Anyway, you have to see the video. Even if you think destroying toys is dumb, I'm dumb, or you don't want to commit your time and/or hard drive space to subscribing to a video podcast in iTunes, Miro, Pyto.tv, with a Zune, or on Digg, you HAVE TO see this episode. It is awesome! I'll even embed it in this post for you...
By the way, that Sailor Mars doll is one of the items that tacohime donated a while back. Those Sailor Moon toys have kept us going for a while, but we're getting pretty low on victims now.
