A different flavor of rock came from the Pretty Reckless, a new band fronted by Taylor Momsen, best-known as “Jenny Humphrey” on the CW’s Gossip Girl. At age 16, and standing center stage in garters and a cream-colored corset, she carried herself like an actual rock singer, not another Hollywood dilettante. Sunday was the sixth live performance ever for the Pretty Reckless, but Momsen and her four-piece band are committed to remain with Warped for the entire summer tour, performing pop-flavored rock songs from their recent EP and upcoming album, due in August. After her set, Momsen said playing Warped would introduce her to rockers who know her only as an actress. “It’s a very band-oriented tour,” she said. “Feel free to judge it, but listen to it first.”

In Hayley’s interview with SPIN Magazine, she talks about Taylor.

Williams is in the band’s RV, spying on a starlet.

“Oh. My. Gosh. I wish I had legs like that.”

Just out the window, Gossip Girl actress Taylor Momsen, a modelesque blonde, is strutting around in knee-high leather boots and something that could charitably be called shorts. She just came offstage, where her band the Pretty Reckless performed a song about letting someone in “through the back door.” ”Can you believe that girl is only 16?” Williams says.

Yay for all these Warped bands noticing our bb.

New article from The Pretty Reckless's official site. Talks about the upcoming album, which will be called Light Me Up.

One night several years ago, Taylor Momsen’s father took his daughter to a White Stripes show. “Before that, the only concert I’d been to was Britney Spears,” says the singer, songwriter, and guitarist. “But once I saw Jack White onstage, that was it. I grew up as a dancer and I thought you had to dance to be a girl in the music industry. Then I saw the White Stripes and I was like, ‘No, you don’t. I can do that.’” Momsen was nine.

Taylor Momsen has said that she would happily let her new single be used in an episode of Gossip Girl.

Earlier this year, a track by Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) was used on the show.

Momsen has now claimed that she would be pleased if her band The Pretty Reckless also made it on to the soundtrack.

"[There are] no plans at the moment that I know of, but if they want to put it in the show I am not going to stop them," she told On The Red Carpet.

"I mean, it's not pop, it's very, very rock to say the least. You know, if they can find a spot for it absolutely, it would be awesome."

Piaget, one of the world’s most prestigious watchmaker and jeweler, provided various pieces for 'The Pretty Reckless’ debut music video "Make Me Wanna Die" from their upcoming debut album.

“Make Me Wanna Die” introduces The Pretty Reckless to the world. In the video, lead singer Taylor Momsen finds herself in the middle of a chaotic, cold and mysterious New York City after leaving a performance. The 18-carat yellow gold Piaget Polo watch and new Possession Celebration rings adorn Momsen during the video. Multiple other Possession rings and necklaces as well as the Piaget Polo watch, one of Piaget’s iconic timepiece, accentuate Momsen’s rock-star look and help define her glamorous yet edgy appeal.

“Make Me Wanna Die” will be available on broadcast and on-line outlets in early May. The Pretty Reckless will be joining US rock music festivals-- The Warp Tour in 2010-- and plans to release their debut album in Summer 2010.

All pieces featured in the new video are available at Piaget boutiques and select retailers nationwide. The Possession Celebration rings were specifically launched this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the line.

It sounds like Taylor Momsen is taking a break from Gossip Girl to focus on her music. The 16-year-old actress plays Jenny Humphrey on the hit CW show, but it was confirmed Monday that she won't be back for the season four premiere in the fall.

With the season three finale on its way, an unnamed insider told Entertainment Weekly that the writers have plans for Taylor's character. “When you watch the finale, you’ll see that we’re doing something very big with her character.”

But the truth might be that the show is competing with Taylor's musical aspirations. The teen singer fronts the Pretty Reckless, a rock band with a new single on the Kick-Ass soundtrack and a slot on the Warped Tour that will keep Taylor busy through the middle of August. The Pretty Reckless (originally just the Reckless) were signed last year to Universal imprint Interscope Records, and with the band's new single, "Make Me Wanna Die" reaching fans, it looks like Taylor is going to have to figure out if she likes acting or rocking better.

Interscope's The Pretty Reckless was announced today by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as an official spokesgroup of National Wanna Play Music Week, May 3-7. Taylor Momsen, one of the stars of the CW's hit show, "Gossip Girl," makes her musical debut this year as the lead singer and songwriter of the The Pretty Reckless. The group appears on the lead single "Make Me Wanna Die" from the soundtrack for the action/comedy film "Kick-Ass" which opens in theatres on April 16, and will be appearing at every show on the annual Vans Warped Tour this summer.

"National Wanna Play Music Week is an especially exciting time for me, as my band also prepares for the release of our first album this year," said Momsen. "We signed on as a Wanna Play campaign spokesgroup to promote the importance of music making and to share my own story of how playing and performing music has positively impacted my life, both personally and professionally."

Kicking off National Wanna Play Music Week, Momsen will be inspiring a new generation to make music as she and her band mates work with students on board the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus - the state-of-the-art mobile recording studio where The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield and many more A-list artists have recorded tracks.
