Other important things to know

Auto Renew makes it easier to keep your plan going, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

  • You'll need a saved debit or credit card. Cash and EFTPOS can't be used
  • Auto Renew stays on until you turn it off
  • If your card payment fails and you have enough balance on your Prepay Plus account, the balance will be used to renew your plan. If your existing balance is used to renew your plan, the payment won’t qualify for Phone Dollars
  • Auto Renew only renews your Prepay Plus plan. Add-Ons and extras need to be bought separately
  • You cannot make changes to your plan between 5pm and midnight on the day before your plan renews
  • To earn Phone Dollars, save the offer in your One Wallet before your qualifying payment is made
  • Auto Renew is not available with MyFlex or Pay & Go plans. Make the move to Prepay Plus.
  • For full T&Cs, visit Auto Renew terms.

FAQs

Who can use Auto Renew?

Auto Renew is available on Prepay Plus plans only.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No. Auto Renew doesn't create a contract or minimum term.

How much will I be charged?

You'll be charged the price of your Prepay Plus plan.

When will I be charged?

Between 5pm and midnight on the day before your plan is due to renew.

Where can I see my plan renewal date?

In the My One NZ app under Plan & Add-ons.

Can I turn Auto Renew off?

Yes. You can manage Auto Renew in the My One NZ app except between 5pm and midnight on the day before renewal.

What happens if Auto Renew card payment fails?

If your card payment fails and you have enough available Prepay balance, it will be used to renew your plan. If not, your plan will be put on hold and you’ll need to top up for your plan to renew. No further card payment retry is made.

Once the plan is active again, Auto Renew will try to make your next scheduled payment as normal.

What happens if my saved card has expired?

You can update card details in the My One NZ app. If you’re not able to do this in time, then Auto Renew payment won’t process and you should receive a TXT advising of this. If there is enough Prepay balance on your account then this will be used to pay for the plan.

How do I update my saved card?

You can update your saved debit or credit card in the My One NZ app.

What will happen to Auto Renew if I change plans?

You will be charged the cost of your new plan immediately from your Prepay account balance. Auto Renew will continue from the following month.

What happens to Auto Renew if I renew my plan early?

If you want to renew your Prepay Plus plan before 5pm on the last day of your plan, you will need to do a top up to cover the cost of your plan. Auto Renew will start again on your next plan renewal.

If my Auto Renew payment fails, will I lose my Rollover or DataUp benefits?

If the card payment fails and there is insufficient Prepay balance on your account, your plan will be put on hold. You will need to top up manually so your plan can renew on time which will enable you to retain your Rollover or DataUp benefits.

Does Auto Renew renew my Add-Ons too?

No. Add-Ons don't renew automatically. If you want Add-Ons, you'll need to top up your account separately.

What’s the difference between Auto Renew and Auto Top Up?

Auto Top Up is not tied to your plan renewal date or plan cost. If you buy a lot of Daily Deals or Add-Ons, or you're on a Pay & Go plan, then Auto Top Up may work better for you.

What happens to my IOU if I use Auto Renew?

Your Prepay IOU will not be repaid by your plan Auto Renew payment. The next time you top up, you’ll simply repay the $5 IOU plus a $0.50 fee.

No. You can set up and manage Auto Renew in the My One NZ app (version 7.8.3 or newer) or by logging in to My One NZ online.
