[mysticdream]
Sometimes when I have to wake up in the middle of the dream, I wonder about feeling like something is off. Like I am still in the dream. And the only way to get out is to lay back down and finish it. And it I hadn't just woken up, things wouldn't be the way they are. I get especially weirded when my dream was reality based.

I don't know which happened first: my incessant thinking or my desire to realize "What the Hell the Point" is, but the two are now inexonerably interwoven in a vicious cycle.
Everything, I think, whenever I think; whenever I wonder "why", everything draws back on itself. Some people make up fancy, fragile religions and put their faith in those systems, constructions though they are, and that gives them strength.
But I think I'm educated well enough to see that many so-called "truths" are fabrications-- indeed, the results of centuries if not thousands of years of isolated "breeding" of thought.

"It's simple: Overspecialize, and you breed in weakness. It's slow death."~Ghost in the Shell

of course, most of all my thinking is selfish in a way. It's usually, "why am I here" rather than "why is Anyone here". but the two go hand in hand anyway.
all of us are together, in the same world, with the same rules, wether we like it or not.
Lately, I can't seem to suppress the insufficient explanations of reality.
...maybe that makes me a visionary.
---
the main point I wanted to get to was about purpose in life.
It seems to me, ,that all creatures are trapped in a cycle without exit.
Over time, people learn from their mistakes, only to find new ways to make mistakes.
Power shifts from one to another and back- technology advances, good turns to evil and evil to good, but there is always death where there is life, sadness where there is happiness, and violence where there is...democracy.
History repeats without end, and all people can do is Life, or Die.
....and Living is Death, itself- because the way people life always Requires casualties.
...even a Utopian society could not exist, because if one somehow managed to transcend the bestial instincts that drive us to destroy each and every living thing that's sacred for Survival, there's going to be someone, somewhere, who hasn't, and who will then crush the new pacifists with impunity.

Therefore, it seems to me, there are ultimately two possible results, over time.
One: we eventually all ...Evolve to the point where we no longer need to "Survive" to Live,
or Two: We face an Apocalypse of our own design as we gradually suffocate ourselves with Waste, Abuse, Hatred, and Destruction.

because I wonder...even though time changes life to dust and dust to life, how long will it be before ... at the very least, the world dies?
We all live, and Die, and more are born.. though we don't know if we are Reborn.
Even if the cycle continues, won't this earth eventually die?
...or does it matter.
Will this Earth, too, be Reborn?
....

How then, should we live? Should we live in the moment and leave the future to itself?
Or, do we need a plan to make sure everything goes through as it should?
....do we need to preserve the future?
or should we put faith in death.

A New Code:

In the concern of practical living, one must know this in particular- that all skills are advanced through practice. From our births onward, we specialize in those activities which we devote time to. However, we are only allowed so much time. So it is the responsibility of each person interested in accelerating their own skills, to decide which subjects they wish to become skillful at, and to practice them, continually.
Subsequentially, one must also choose which skills to neglect, and which activites waste more time than practicing.

This post concerns my ongoing efforts to create a non-religious system of beliefs that may hold true indefinitely. Maybe it's too much to hope that an idea will not eventually be proved false, as possibilities, of course, are practically infinite. At any moment things could change, if one discovers something that one did not previously know but had based the idea upon. For instance, Christianity would most certainly fail if it was proven that Christ never existed. But then, also, proof is only evidence if it is accepted by the mind of the person considering it. Practically speaking, one would never really know about That without some kind of personal experience in the matter.
I myself have eventually rejected most of my raised-Catholic faith because I did not have any personal experiences "with God" that I believed were more than imagination.
As such, I wonder about other people who claim that they have had experience with God, or Jesus. I wonder if, as they say, they actually did, or if the experience is entirely relative to one's imagination. Heck, by rejecting my original religion and practices, or for that matter rejecting many Other kinds of singular-specific religions, I am damning myself by those same standards.
... and yet, I believe I must reject them, if I believe they are untrue or flawed/corrupted so badly that they are unsalvagable, in terms of practical application. If I am wrong though, I may yet be proven wrong, at the end.
But, one never knows until the end. "You don't know the meaning of life until you die".
Therefore, one is responsible to make do with what they DO know, because it is the only thing they know from personal experience. Anything more is projection.
...and yet, by creating a theoretical system of beliefs, that too is a projection, am I being hypocritical?

I think I would rather be vague than say something that might turn out to be untrue.
Some might say that that's just noncommital or irresponsible in a way, that i'm not willing to commit to backing up my answers.
But if there's somethign I'm not sure about, I don't think I have the right to assume that I do know exactly what i'm talking about.

I.E. "I'll try hard" rather than "I"ll do my best".

Ok, to start off, let's think of something basic as foundation.

Personal belief is established by personal experience, true?

Who agrees that empirical knowledge is the most reliable?

and, if we can really only know what we ourselves know, how do we deal with believing other experiences?

lastly, as the first "session"-type posting in this community, how is it, and does it sound too ...... "seminar"like?
