13th September, 2011. 7:24 pm. Two Kingdom Hearts Ocs for the price of one.(risingdreams)

These are characters  I intend using for an RP. They're life and death twins, mainly because in most of my works I can't help but to portray characters with death and life powers as either lovers or twins.

I don't know wheter the twins should be boys, girls or one of each, but I'm referring to them as females... Because most Nobody OCs are females. I would like some help with that, actually. I was tempted to make one male and the other one female, due to most trios in Kingdom Hearts being composed of two boys and one girl.

Also, it would be an AU and the implication here is that Nobodies can feel, but once in a blue moon and unless it's something very big to them. I have yet to play 358/2 and Birth By Sleep because these games have yet to be released here, but I googled about it. Yet, I tried not to get too spoiled (I exist in hope, after all) so if there are any obvious mistakes, could you please correct me, without, errr... Spoiling me too much? Please, and thanks!

17th August, 2011. 12:00 am. Pokémon Trainer OC - Prue Eveque(mugenginga)

Edited to clear up some confusion on her badges!

Fandom: Pokémon (Game Based Setting, Explained Below)
Character Name: Prue Eveque (Pru E-veck)

Brief background of character: Prue was born in Cerulean City and unlike most of her peers wasn't a trainer. Her mother dabbled in it a bit but her father didn't have much interest, and while Prue knew some Pokemon, she had a slight fear of leaving home and of Pokemon in general due to experiences with Beedrill when she was about eight. She left home when she was twelve (she is currently 25) after an interesting encounter lead to her, Bill, and Misty rescuing a young Squirtle. She is currently twenty-five and has spent most of that time traveling. She has spent time in every major region of the world (the regions of the main series) as well as the more prominent minor regions (Orre and the Ranger Games). Prue has all eight badges from all five regions, but they were not gained overnight. Her first trip through Kanto had her doing horribly. She only got four badges and barely managed those. In Johto she only got five, although it is arguable she missed the Hive Badge because of her crippling fear of Beedrill and the fact that it was an insect based gym. She was able to get all eight badges in her second trips through both regions, both several years after her first. Due to having the badges (despite needing two tries in Kanto and Johto), she has competed in the League tournaments for each region, but has never made it past the third round, and only made it that far once. In Hoenn she got into Contests, where she discovered she was HORRIBLE at Tough Contests but passable in the rest. She did best in Cute, and in Sinnoh she managed to earn a few Cute Master ribbons with her main Pokémon, a female Pachirisu named Sora. She has never gotten a Master ribbon in any other rank, although she does have a respectable amount of them in Cute. She's not a household name, but uber geeks of the Contest circle would probably know Sora's name.

Character's position or job:
Full Time Pokémon Trainer, Part-Time Coordinator (although she's really better at the latter than the former)

Strengths/Skills:
Passable Trainer, Good Coordinator (she's out of practice though, so she'd be rusty), Amazing Poffin Chef, Passable Pokeblock maker, passable berry raising

Are these skills typical of the fandom? If not, why?: I'd call them typical? She has a fair few overlaps with Dawn of the anime, but given that she's a Coordinator that just makes her normal. She is a slight bit unusual due to being both a trainer and coordinator, although that's not unheard of either. I feel it's okay to have her able to gain badges like she does because it's not out and out unusual in the way I've interpreted the setting and she never makes it far in the League tournaments (third round is like... probably the bottom 10% or so? Of all the people who gained all the badges for a region?) She's frequently told that she should focus on Coordinating, but she has trouble focusing on just that one thing. She might actually do better if she did so, though.

Weaknesses/Bad habits: Bad PokéAthlete, fairly poor at Frontier-related activities, below average stamina for her profession (so, what most people in our world would have, disorganized, some issues remembering attack names (which directly effects in battle performance), double and triple battles, somewhat naive and gullible

Distinctive features, if any:  None physically? She tends to dress in a lot of pink, though.

Are these features unique in the fandom? If so, why?: The below average stamina might count since she's a trainer. The trouble remembering attack names is a feature I never see in OCs, so that might qualify as well. It has cost her fights before, although she's a lot better about it than she used to be.

The Connections to canon characters (if any): She's met all the gym leaders from every region (excluding Giovanni, she's never met him), and is on either good or neutral terms with most of them. But that's just due to her having the badges, I wouldn't say she knows them personally aside from Misty, who she knows due to growing up in Cerulean. She actively likes a handful of them (Misty, Crasher Wake, Chuck, Iris, Fantina, Wattson), actively dislikes a few (Blue, Clair, Byron), is intimidated by a few (Lt. Surge, Clay, Bugsy (she might get past that if she wasn't bothered by his bee Pokémon)) - but the only one I'd say she really KNOWS is Misty, and even then it's the way you might know an active member of the community. She's met several of the Frontier Brains, but not all, and never due to reaching them in the Frontier. She has not met any of the protagonist-type characters aside from Blue, although she knows OF most of them. She also hasn't met any Team leaders, including N.

Story snippet/link to story: I don't really... have this? I intend on starring Prue in a webcomic some day, but I don't have anything for you at the moment.

How does your character get on with those around him/her? (I'm assuming you mean Personality?): Prue is hyperactive and rather "genki". She wears her emotions on her cuff and is emotional enough to be called overdoing it at times. She's a trainer for the fun, friendships, and travel - not the battles, although she's quite capable at them. While her default emotion is cheerful, she can and will get mopey from time to time. It can be a little hard to pull her out of that, and sometimes she just needs to be smacked (not always figuratively, either) to pull her out of a funk. She tries to put other people first and not hurt their feelings, but sometimes she can come across as selfish, particularly when her Pokemon are concerned. She despises people who use Pokemon as tools rather than treating them as friends. She's hard to calm down when she gets going (whatever the emotion), but can generally buckle down and get through when shit hits the fan. She tries to see the best in people, causing some cases of gullibility. She also tends to be a bit of a spazz, and is somewhat whiny.

Setting Explanation: I actually do modify canon a bit for her. I treat every main release as some sort of canon, so instead of the retcon Nintendo had I just say "and Team Rocket got up to even MORE mischief" - it just doesn't directly match the games (although I argue they were beaten down by the Protags again).

11th July, 2011. 1:17 am. Kingdom Hearts RP, Nobody OC(pig_catapult)

Fandom: Kingdom Hearts, although the game I made her for has an expanded setting with agreed-upon headcanon applied to the gaps in actual canon. Perhaps most notably in relation to this, Nobodies in this game can feel some emotions, but their lack of a heart renders them incapable of making meaningful emotional connections with people, leaving them functionally sociopaths. Nobodies in this game are also likely, but not required, to have some manner of obsession that they use as a crutch to patch the gap left by their emotional isolation.

4th June, 2011. 8:00 pm. Harry Potter AU again(phenein)

This is (again !) for my AU wherein:
- Grindelwald wasn't defeated and is coming back
- Voldemort's been teaching at Hogwarts all along
- Voldemort's got some sort of family (a wife and 15-year-old son) that admittedly he doesn't treat as one ought to treat one's family
- Dumbledore isn't head of the Wizengamot or ICW, though he is a member
- the first war (VoldWar that is) is just starting, and the year is 1969

The point of divergence is, of course, that Dippet hired Voldemort way back when. I posted the main viewpoint character a while back, whom I was afraid for being that he is Voldemort's kid and well, the main viewpoint character, and now I'm wondering about his mother, who is a secondary character and somewhat evil (and unredeemed) as these things go but still, I fear, in danger of Sue-ness ? She's supposed to be unlikeable, but please tell me if she's believable.

22nd April, 2011. 11:17 am. Help me with my Dragon Age II character(the_nuttyone)

I don't know if my Dragon Age II character is too much of a Stu, but I'm writing a fanfiction about him.  It would be nice to know if he was or not, even though I've taken multiple litmus tests with him and gotten fairly good results.

Fandom:
Dragon Age
Character Name: Hector Hawke

Brief background of character:
Hector is the son of Malcolm Hawke and Leandra Amell.  While he was born with the ability to use magic, he rejected it after learning one spell, and devoted himself to learning the way of the sword.  He became close friends with his brother, Carver, and distrusts most mages--including his sister, Bethany.  After coming to Kirkwall, Hector established himself as a mercenary of the Red Iron, but often got hired out by Aveline Vallen to help the guards of Kirkwall.  Currently, he is attempting to fund a Deep Roads expedition...but he needs money.
Character's position or job: Mercenary; does many jobs for the guards.  Former soldier in King Cailan's army at Ostagar.
Strengths/Skills: Hector is an accomplished swordsman, and also knows one spell (heal).
Are these skills typical of the fandom? If not, why?: Being a swordsman is typical among those who are trained for battle; having the knowledge of one spell is the only way I could ensure that the readers didn't forget he was a mage.
Weaknesses/Bad habits: Self-loathing due to being a mage and constantly trying to prove himself as a warrior; internalized homophobia due to being gay and his father wanting mage grandchildren; bites nails when nervous; gets drunk about once every two months; has a habit of arguing with his uncle, Gamlen; often holds a grudge for far too long.
Distinctive features, if any: Hector has long-ish black hair that he likes to braid back and cover with a hood.
Are these features unique in the fandom? If so, why?: No.
Connections to canon characters (if any): Brother of Carver Hawke; son of Leandra Amell; best friend of Aveline Vallen; future Champion of Kirkwall; will eventually be romantically paired with Anders; nephew of Gamlen Amell.
How does your character get on with those around him/her?: Fairly well, unless he is convinced they have done wrong to him.  He's generally a friendly person until he gets into a fight.

Hello, could someone please look over my Naruto Oc and see if she is a plausible character? I wasn't too sure if I made her have too sad a history or not but considering she's a ninja...

27th March, 2011. 5:22 pm.(umipalerm)

Hello there~ I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Personally, I don't believe my character is a Sue, but when I applied her to a community, the mods told me my grammar and spelling needed some pruning. I've been looking for someone to help me give it a proofread, since I've run the whole thing through Word and grammar-checkers without them picking on anything. I'm not a native speaker, and while that might be the reason why I don't notice these mistakes, I'd like to believe I'm decent at english. So... any feedback would be very very welcome! Both in spelling, grammar and the character. Thank you!!

8th February, 2011. 10:06 pm. obscure original character.(suuscurator)

Just. Wanted to give this a shot because feedback's something I'm always aiming for. Received a few tips on how to work this kid, but I was wondering what the rest of the world thought, if they'd be willing to give it a shot. Long story short, I never intended his world to be different than the modern world, but things.. happened. Also I know this isn't a reason but I'd like help with grammar - English being my second language usually isn't a problem but I've been second-guessing myself more. Long story short, I need feedback on how I've portrayed Cody's world and Cody as a whole -s is he realistic, is he too out there?
Thanks in advance!
